Hi John,
MFME v5.1 is the latest version, 5.2 out later this year. There are only a handful of machine layouts, which don't function correctly (until the next update).
V10.1 and 9.4 are unofficial releases.
So basically get v5.1 and forget everything else.
Not sure what you mean about click and drag overlays in full screen mode. Under file preferences you can untick shrink to fit and it will show the layout in it's native resolution. Then when you enter edit mode you can use the scroll bars to move around the layout.

Years on and I have just found this helpful...... New to the FME world, currently enjoying what I have been able to run and play though. Thanks all!

even though this is a great emulator and still plays a lot of layouts it is now no longer in development and has not been for many years, everything has shifted over to mfme now and that emulator is light years ahead of jpemu, it supports all the impact machines that jpemu did and millions more across different manufacturers of fruit machine, id recommend you take a look and get used to mfme emulator now

Fruit Machine emulators, only work straightaway on PC.
On MAC, you may get some running, by using some sort of Windows environment software.
This site is very dead, when it comes to Fruit Machine Emulation.
Join up at www.desertislandfruits.com (DIF) and make an introduction post about what machines you like/liked, any arcades you visit/visited and a little bit about yourself. That way, you'll get 4 rep points to be able to start downloading.
At DIF, there are the latest emulator and there are hundreds of machines available. You'll also be able to get advice as to how to get MFME (the latest and best emulator) running on MAC.
