It is the same answer as always.... If you want MPU5 then code it yourself, beacuse not one of the current emu authors is going to release it so don't bother asking them.

Agreed. Some people here forget that people do this out of the goodness of the hearts, without making any money, to preserve the memory e.t.c of classic machine techs.
If I **could** write the MPU5 emu [not that I would want to] I wouldn't share it anyway as it would no doubt blow up in everyones faces.
That Empire business made no sense to me then, and hasn't since....I remember that one week they had ROMs on their site for some of the latest machines, and then they vanished. I seem to remember it involving one or both of the following :
1) 'Us' taking the piss and ripping the roms from some of their machines, or
2) Some kind of online attack aimed at them.
Maybe both are wrong, all I know is that someone f**ked up and the scene has been a damn sight worse off - even if it is just because newbies have to pester people for Big Cheese roms :)

there you go done it again.............But you still didn't answer the question. Is it you may know a bit about Emu's and this entitles you to make comments that you don't know the answer to -- or you want people to think you do?-----------feeling this could go to the abyss---shame i didn't get a sensible answer first though!!

P.S] This forum is not here for arguing but the MPU5 emulation debate keeps coming up and the basic fact is that it can't be done at the moment, end of story. It probably will be emulated in the future but not know so why are people like you starting arguments about something you don't really understand?!
Can we have this thread bunged into the Abyss or some other godforsaken place soon please :)
^^ As requested 10 posts ago, I think there should be a seperate area of the forums for people to argue about when the MPU5 emu will [if ever] be released, and we can all get on with our normal lives being satisfied with all thats been achieved so far.

Basically I just thought that you would
a) Get better answers by starting a new thread mentioning 'what happened to empire?' or similar in the thread title, and
b) The fact this thread SHOULD have been thrown into the abyss ages ago.
c) Yes I paid £107 for Each Way Nudge, I've also spent £27 on bulbs, the reminder of which I am GIVING FREE WITH THE MACHINE AND I AM DELIVERING FREE WITHIN 50 MILES so don't try and twist this thread into something it isn't.
YOU posted off topic in this thread, YOU get no replies.
Makes sense to me.

Sorry for going off like that mate, spose I am the king of off topic posting :)
At least we found out what had gone on in the end - I thought it was about taking the pish and releasing with roms not given to us by Empire but I remember something about someone FME related getting DOS attacks or something and shutting up shop.
Yup, time to throw this topic in the abyss - and put a HUGE NEON SIGN on the homepage saying IF YOU WANT A BARCREST MACHINE SINCE 1997 FOR DOWNLOAD IT ISN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!
