The reason I think the PS3 controllers are way infront is because the xbox wireless controllers ( well my two anyway ) allways turned them selfs off , not sure if this is a common thing.

Thats a good thing, they turn off if you leave them for long enough to save the batteries.

Another reason why 360 controller is better than ps3, they always had vibration from the start.

It's all a matter of opinion

On that note, I'm off for a game :p

PS3 for 1 reason for me only, Final Fantasy 13. Although I believe that after this Sony has lost the exclusive rights to the Final Fantasy franchise, so maybe I'll buy an Xbox 1720 in the future.

At the moment the 360 is the better console, but the PS3 has a lot more to come, their cpu has a lot more power to be unleashed once the game makers know how to program it properly.
So at the moment 360 is way better, in a year or 2 it will be the PS3 without a doubt.

one big problem ive found on the 360 online compared to the ps3 is the yanks, how much they had the british is unreal yet on ps3 and pc they seem pleasent but on the 360 they are the most annoying sh**s around.

it will be interesting to see how long sony keep the ps3 out for and bring games for it as the ps1 and ps2 lasted around 6-7 yrs each from launch to next console. but microsoft like to be different and bring a xbox out in shorter times. i wonder what will be different in new xbox as it seems atm microsoft seem more intent bringing updated 360s out rather then adding a blu ray to them. i did only originally buy a ps3 for the blu ray but looking at the new games coming for the ps3 i might just buy them on the ps3 as apposed to 360.

I've got a Wii console. OK it's not exactly powerful, but it is a lot of fun even if the graphics are somewhat retro. For me it's a bit like fruit machines the old style ones may have lower specs and payouts but they're much more enjoyable...

The PS3 has had it's fair share of hardware issues, including a high failure rate on the drives themselves.

Plus the 360 is a lot cheaper for those looking to get into HD gaming, it has a wider range of games and game styles. It has a 3 year guarentee thrown in, so if it does go wrong, you've got 3 years (as long as you don't mod it!)

The main thing that annoys me with the 360 is the noise... my Elite anyway is noisier than I would like, seeing as how I use open backed headphones.

If the PS3 gets more competitive on price, I think it would be a better solution. When it first came out, it was worth buying for Blu Ray playback if you wanted that - but you can now get decent Blu Ray players a lot cheaper. Last time I checked Richer Sounds they had models from £150.

PS3's can be picked up new for around £220

360's with a HDD are going for £160

I was thinking recently of getting a dedicated blu-ray player assuming the picture might be better than that through the PS3. Did a bit of investigating on the AV forums and it appears that the PS3 is one of the best blu-ray players available. It has a much quicker start time than the stand alone players and is constantly being updated through the PS3 software.

Well, if we look at the current figures, and use the cheapest *new* prices from *proper* retaillers - with no 'picked up for around', and only using the current models, we get :

Xbox 360 60Gb = £159.99 (Play.com, Amazon.co.uk). Argos = £162.85
Sony PS2 80GB = £279.99 (Play.com, Amazon.co.uk). Argos = £287.34

That's still a difference of £120 in my book, *twice* the £60 you are quoting.

I'm not dealing in 2nd hand figures and whatnot, just UK retail figures, as that's what most people will end up paying.

now, if you have a 360 like myself and a little dvd firmware up/down download/custom firmware then u can play games for f/all, yet the ps3 is an 72-80 point mod chip solder?

*Yawn* just another PS3 fanboy, who can't back up any argument with facts. Either post where you've 'saw' 80gb models at £240, including delivery (Play and Amazon are free P&P), or accept that you can't get them from a UK supplier at that price, and if you import you run the risk of extortionate customs charges.

I'd still pick 360 over PS3, *until* the PS3 becomes available new, from shops, for under £200, bundled with games and accessories. Much larger catalogue of games, including loads of games which cost nothing, and an excellent range of downloadable games. The 3 year guarantee on the most common hardware fault. I'm not fussed about 'modding', but again, if that is your thing, 360 is the only real console.

Really not bothered by Blu-Ray, *none* of the series I watch are available, and films are still far too expensive, especially given the current economic situation. No way am I paying £15 for an upscaled copy of a film I bought new, on DVD, for under a fiver.

Even if Ps3's were cheaper than the 360, I'd still buy the 360 :)

Dualshock controllers have HORRIBLE thumbsticks and HORRIBLE triggers, both for the same reason, fingers slip off them.

I've had a go on that Home, am I right in thinking its just a 3d Habbo Hotel?
