Time to quit gambling completely, but I have no idea where to start. I have a few hurdles in my way though.

1. I work in a pub with 3 fruit machines and also only have one other pub in my village were I socialize and that also has 3 machines.

2. All my mates are into gambling, but at 21 I feel I am too old to make a new social circle.

And 3. I am 100%, completely addicted to them. I just feel an urge to play.

I need to stop, but have no idea how to. Emulators are good to play the classics and to do things you normally wouldn't have the bottle to do, so they really aren't a substitute for the real thing.

All advice welcome, and if anyone has any success stories, I would love t hear them.

To answer your points as asked...

1. I work in a pub with 3 fruit machines and also only have one other pub in my village were I socialize and that also has 3 machines.

A: Tell the guvnor to sack you if he catches you playing the fruitys....Lack of finances can work wonders.

2. All my mates are into gambling, but at 21 I feel I am too old to make a new social circle.

A: Get yourself a Woman...you wont have any money left for fruitys.
and if you still feel the urge....get another.

3. I am 100%, completely addicted to them. I just feel an urge to play

A: Just look at the fruit machine for the Self centred Bitch it is...willing to take as much as you can give it and still want more...and then give it to someone else when your back is turned...(this may also be applied to other "parts of your life")

Sorry for the light hearted replies but will power is the most important thing in any addiction...If you are really serious about giving up seek help from those around you to "kick your arse" if you slip....

Emulators are great to replace real fruit machines and that has to be welcomed. But remember, try not to use the emulators to replace only part of your addiction. If you do, you may find yourself trying to achieve things on real machines that you did on the emulator. In that respect, you may find you have greater urges to play real fruit machines thus intensifying your addiction even more. Also, with information from Tony who states his emulator isn't 100% accurate, who knows what things the emulators do that is impossible on a real machine. There could be other parts of a machines play that isn't quite 100%.

The first step is to move lock stock and barrel to the emulators and quit the real fruitys for good.
