Swapping ISP later this month From Tiscali to Talk Talk. Not had a deal of problems with Tiscali but with money being tight, thought it is time to ditch the hefty £18.99 monthly subscription.
Quite surprised by their offer.Phone (free weekend to landlines and TT customers) and 8meg broadband(usage 40Gb/month) for £15.49 for first 3 months rising to £21.99 thereafter plus free wireless router. They even waived the £29.99 connection fee.

Just wondered if anyone is on it and if it is any good, cheers

i got 20MB with virgin media for £20 a month ;) since a flyer came through my door stating either 10MB for £10 a month or 20MB for £20 a month so i thought i go for the 20MB one ;) not had any problems with it so far :) been downloading movies and albums within less then 10 minutes ;) so i am all good...

never been on AOL, TalkTalk or Tiscali

My mate who is on AOL keeps getting disconnected if he tries to download and that lot as AOL watches him :| so he is scrapping it and moving to Virgin Media 20MB which is £20 a month and better :)

Cheers for the replies gents, feel a bit happier about getting it now. They are sorting the switch out for me but warned me about the nonstop phonecalls, emails and letters that Tiscali will try and send to keep me with them.
My mind is made up,TalkTalk it is:thumbs_up:

This is exactaly what I am getting from Talk Talk right now (Line here belongs to a sister company, OneTel).

I point blank refuse to use a capped service like this, which contains very poor customer service, being lied to, constantaly being over-billed, unstable connection (This what happened when my sisters mate changed to them, and wished she never did).

Although it's only a 2 MB line here, it's stable enough and fast enough for what I want it for, and only with a good FUP as opposed to a 40 gig capped service like their sister company).

I have asked TalkTalk so many dam times NOT to call me, or send post to me, and to leave me alone, but they point blank refuse to do so.

They can get f***ED if they want me to join up with them.

I was with TalkTalk a few years ago, shite!! you cannot dl nothing after 4pm until midnight. When i used Azureus the dl speed was less than 3kps after 4pm. i used to dl after midnight.

Its all well and good a ISP saying you have unlimited dl but what can you dl, nothing. also the streaming was poor after 4pm.

I left them after 1 year and went with Eclipse, they were the best i have ever had, never had a problem with them. after a year and so i have changed to Tiscali, because, the price, i got 3 months for £14-99 then it goes up to £19-99. Also i have taken out the telephone line and calls with them.

tiscali are crap after 4pm as well, cant stream and the dl speed goes down also.

If i was to give an opinion of the best i have had i would have to say Eclipse, perfect speed 24/7

No matter what ISP you use, they all need to be "Line Trained" for upto 10 days for most ADSL connections, but normaly sorts itself after 3 / 5 days. Reasion for this is that the exchange needs to know what the higist stable speed it can get away with, so I would suggest leaving your router on for at least the next 10 days so this is sorted out as quick as poss.

I have BT Total broadband. I get about 6 meg and it's unlimited. Speeds do drop a bit in the evenings but all in all I am happy with it.

Got fed up with going from ISP to ISP and just went for the big name. £22.99 a month but I download a fair bit every week :)

i dont reccon much on talktalk or tiscali

seemed too expensive

i pay £10 a month with o2 for 16mb broadband, only condition is i top up my o2 mobile once every 3 months, which is easy :p

for your £10 a month you get:

100 free web texts, free wireless router, free connection & no line rental

just need a BT landline & o2 mobile (or its £15 a month)

take a look at the speed test :)

go for o2 if you can or try & stick it out with Talktalk
