Hello, im David and a relatively new poster and have only been playing fruit machines for around 3 months.
Recently as in a few days ago, i decided i would play maximum stakes on a few fruitys and see whats what, well last night it paid dividends. Played DOND Walk of wealth, with a friend and we managed to get a mega streak (77) after putting in around 15 pounds. Then in the same evening, different pub and different dond machine, this time its your show. after a while we was winning 15, 30 pounds, 20 pounds and just reinvesting the money. and then at the end we had a ms (only 35 pounds thou ) so we called it a day. So my first 2 megastreaks and both on the same evening.
My point. Should I go round my town, list all the fruit machines i believe i can play, observe and learn quickly and try to make this a profitable thing ? I hear so much about pros and that, but do you think i should? Any tips.

Hello and welcome to the site
I played fruits for a living for three years some 12 years back and even though there was easy money to be made back then, it gets boring very quickly. Also I had a private education which was going to waste and I wanted more out of life than hanging around arcades and driving around the local pubs, so I stopped and got a regular job so I could have some structure in my life.
These days there are too many people trying to earn a living at fruits and not enough money in it. There are many other factors (such as anti-player profiles, shit percentages, online gambling, everyday punters spending less) that make it very difficult to consistently make money. You can get burned for hundreds these days if you catch a couple of bad machines, which can hurt for weeks. I have friends who have been playing fruits for 15 or 20 years who are now calling it a day, as it's too much work for too little reward.
My tip is to enjoy the occasional win that you have, and treat the whole thing as a bit of fun, or at best, a way to pay for a night out.
Oh and Todd, this may be a Fruit Machine Emulation site mate, but I was under the impression that in the forums you can talk about anything you want.
Apart from the recent leaked Astra stuff...
Watch out! There's a SIG thief about...

have to agree with toddy its ok telling each other how we faired but its ur first post please dont think you can win on everything. a machine is an electronic bank account that always stays in the black in the end. its designed to provide profit for the owners nothing else, i have won the 500 before with only 3 in, bet your bottom dollar it took a few thousand before me winning tho

Yes There are a lot of people already doing this so it aint going to be easy atall, its not the easiest lifestyle you have to be out early and normally in late, will have to drink beer everyday, unless your getting info very fresh then there's not much point to be honest.

Totally agree. I've won a few hundred in the past but lost a great deal more.
Much better to stick with the emulations on this site, strange as it may seem but I still get the same buzz winning a JP on an emu as I did on a real machine.

Dont go from pub to pub thinking you can win you wont I have had
That life style and it is no fun what so f*****g ever
Greed can and will take over and you will lose everything
You will then try to win that back and lose even more before you know
If your selling everything to try and win back what you lose
Try a real job because gambling on fruit machines sure as hell aint one
Nobody including billy bullshit(garythetravelingpikerchndlerwhogothis namefromashitsinger)will win anything you will lose
I have seen so called pros even if they did win and they sure as hell
Then there spending 8 od hours a day in arcade for virtualy fk all gain
Myself I sure woldent want to be sat around all day playing machines
I know first hand just how dull that crap is
If you want to win some money get a online poker account play that
make a hell of alot more than shity 35 quid jackpot
such sites as poker stars offer big return in tourneys for little stakes

Hello, im David and a relatively new poster and have only been playing fruit machines for around 3 months.
I've cut just the top of your post and I'll suggest to you to back away. Sure, maybe money can be made from machines but I reckon you may have just been lucky on this occasion.
Next time, you may not be so lucky. And theres plenty of us around the scene who once thought we'd be able to make money from them. People who squandered a fortune over the years, others who became addicted and lived lives of misery blowing their incomes.
Before embarking on a potential new career, have a look around and read up on people who thought the same only to be sucked into a life they didn't even consider existed.
My advice, from my experiences, is to back away whilst you appear to have the choice. Because once you start, and things don't go to plan, you'll soon be chasing your losses, losing money you shouldn't spend, and maybe even become addicted to the things.
Once upon a time, fruit machines, or AWP's, were fun to play. You put a bit of money in, you may get a bit out. But usually you lost. Today with high stake games and fast spins, plus an operator who needs to make money to pay staff, buy new machines, and pay his bills and taxes, your money will fritter away very quickly.
Thats just my take on this of course. It's up to you in the end.
And yes, I was addicted from the mid 1980's to the mid 1990's. And that addiction was broken simply because machines became crap. Unobtainable jackpots helped me. Back in the day, jackpots were very achieveable at 20p play £4.80/£6.00 JP. And I played because I could get them. Todays 30p £35JP machines in reality, only have a £5 jackpot for 99% of the time, although they give the impression otherwise. You have to be smart enough to play that machine when it's approaching that 1% when the JP will be paid. And it will cost you several pounds on each machine to determine if it's ready or not.

I've beena pro player, I am known as jeffvickers on other sites.
Here were the positives: Money.
And the negatives:
Poor Mental Health
Poor Physical Health
Neglect of friends, family, girlfriend and children
Alcohol addiction
Assaults / intimidation
Police questioning
A job provides the positives, and avoids the negatives.

no way on earth can you make a living from fruit machines. just the thought of being able to do this is absolutely ridiculess. machines are made for making the owner money not the player.

People can, and do.
I have met one or two of them.

Nicely said Gary,
and you'll notice that nowadays, there are two groups, the ones that have an odd £5 for old times sakes, and the ones that want to make a living out of it.
Most machines are either always empty now or rarely ready to pay. Remember someone may be watching you waiting for you to walk away...
You got lucky ON ONE NIGHT!!!!!!! Now you want to make a living out of it?
I've only bet once on a horse and won, doesn't make me a pro!
