t prob its overheating i agree go down to currys the reason they want give u a repair job is it costs them money to replace it as they can not resell the repaired laptop by law anyway

They said I can have it replaced which will be the fourth laptop in 8 weeks. Just this other issue with having to pay the extra £100 which I'm not happy with.

I just got back from currys and I now have a new model the acer aspire 6930G. I managed to get the manager to not add the extra £100 because of the three deal had changed. So will see how this one works out. Fingers crossed that this will be ok.

Make sure you make the recovery discs following the manual...Vista forgets where it puts itself sometimes and your suddenly facing a black screen saying insert bootdisc, with no sign of vista.
Cyberpunk:- alienated loner who lives on the edge of society in generally dystopic future where daily life is impacted by rapid technological change, an ubiquitous datasphere of computerized information, and invasive modification of the human body.....Hmmmmm

Yes m8 it is going well. I have had only one small problem, when I installed nokia pc suite. When I restarted the laptop it took about about 10 minuets to load up windows. It did this every time I started the laptop so just restored it to the day before and reinstalled nokia pc suite again and worked finr since then.

Now tho my desktop has no sound at all, and I have tried everything to get it working. Looks like a shop job :-(

Nokia PC Suite is well known for f'ing over Vista, and XP too as I found out with me bro-in-law's HP tower, but managed to get it working fine in the end after a scan with CCleaner and JV16 Power Tools, plus re-installing sound drivers.
