Stick it in test mode, and test to see if its firing coins out. IIRC its test ONE, press start then use the hold buttons for £1's & 20p's. As LukeyBizzle725 said you might have a coin stuck.

The test mode you're looking for is 'coin flow test'.
Switch on with the door open
Press the green button on the mainboard 'once' (you should see 'stars' on the alpha display)
Press start and you should see 'coin flow test' on the alpha
Press the button to the left of start (on my machine its Exchange)
You should then be in Coin Flow test mode
Use Buttons 1 & 2 to test the coin mechs to see if it spits coins out

I'm not sure then.
I take it you've actually got coins in there? Also I would imagine that this machine has tubes and not a coin hopper. If so, then check the float sensors on the tubes - looks like a black switch about 6 inches from the bottom of the tube and fixed to the tube itself. Check the wiring and make sure nothing had come loose. That's about all I can think of really. Anything more than that and you'd be better off talking to one of the tech guys at the Mecca who know a hell of a lot more than me.
The MPU Mecca
Also I don't want to tempt fate, but it might be related to your battery problem.
Lastly, and its a bit drastic but you could try clearing the RAM (thus clearing the error). You can do this by shorting the battery but its not recommended. Maybe one the the Mecca guys could give you a safer way of doing this.
Good luck!

It's too low on cash then. It really needs about £20+ in the £1 tube, that's exactly what the float level sensors are there for. It's basically telling you to fill it up a bit. I would imagine the 'CL' lamp is lit on the main glass - 'Coins Low'.
Don't know if this would work as I've never tried it, but you could try moving the sensor down till it's below the level of the coins - reset the machine and try again. Maybe I'm talking bollox though lol

its a scorpion 2 machine i beleive i have the club version, for freeplay you have to keep the green button on the main board (on the back door) for about 5 secs, also your money goes into the tubes in the back of the machine. to get your money back you have to hold the green button again for bout 10secs to go into menu, then with the lit button "collect" coin output. something like that, and press the buttons to pulse the tubes.
***JUST SEEN THE SECOND PAGE, I ONLY SAW ONE PAGE LOL. SORRY, GLAD YOU SORTED IT. ***
