I think it would be electric bill consideration for how long people keep home machines on. Think of it, arcade ones are on all day.

This is a site for EMULATION purposes of older machines. Not playing strategies.
If you are more interested in playing modern machines,
visit Jackpottyforums

(DOND is around now on this site..... How long was this sig out of date...!)

I turn it on to play it, and then when i'm finished i turn it off. There's no point in it sitting in attract mode for hours when the only person likely to play it is myself!

I only have mine switched on when Im playing it, however many pubs (including pubs Ive worked in) NEVER switch their machiens off, even at night when they are closed, so they acn be left on 24/7 if required - but as the other posters have said, it is probably not recommended.

Cheers,

Mark

Dont own a real fruity myself but it would seem it makes more sense to leave it switched off as long as its not in use.

That way you wont be having to replace blown bulbs all the time plus the PSU and the motors that drive the reels would only have a limited lifespan i would imagine this way they last longer.

Plus ye save a few bob on yer electricity bill.
Mmmmmm...Sandy ive 'ad her ye know. :)

Depends if you pay for your leccy with a keycard or are made of money, I can't see a reason how it would cause any damage to a machine being left on all the time.

...isn't it possible it could overheat...

It may sound silly, but mine are turned on most of the time. Off when out or in bed of course, but if you see my lounge and dining room, with all the sets of 'mood lights' Sally has bought over the years, you probably won't notice the 2 machines. And they are only played when I have loose change in my pockets so can be days without being played, and when they are, just a pound or two is played through. Unless I win something of course, then they are played until the winnings are all gone.

Not if put in the correct place with adequate ventilation.

Well it would not last long in a laundry room would it?

But outside works for me.

bellfruits and maygays feck up the most if left on 24/7 due to the crap power supplies.

barcrest mpu 5 are pretty sound though.

i still wouldn't do though because of the cost.

mines always left on in my summer house - it uses about 2p every couple of hours , fruit machines are desgined to stay on , keep turning them off and on can do more damage plus the battery needs at lest 12 hours to charge
