Hi All,
I've just bought a Monopoly Quiz machine (SWP) and it has a fault (Known at time of purchase)
Everytime a coin is inserted and accepted the Alarm goes off and the Coin inputs turn off (this also seems to happen when it's paying out)
If I flip the door switch (back door or front cash draw) the machine stops the alarm and continues as normal until another coin is inserted.
Has anyone any ideas on this?
Coin Mech takes 10p / 20p / 50p / £1 / £2
Cheers

No I'm sorry, but I only just bought it tonight - and I'm loving having a mess with it
Any ideas why the alarm would be going off?

I had The Same Problem With A Coronation St Few years Ago, All I Did Was Dissconnect All Wire From Coin Mech, Turned Machine On, The Once Set Up Turned Of And Connected It Back Up, And Worked Fine After That, If That Dont Work, Look On Ebay For A New Coin Mech

Yeah?
I'll try tonight on it then.
The coin mech green diagnostic led flashes once when a coin (or reject) is put in (which indicates it accepted it fine)
It's a CashFlow 126.
I was also read that it could be on of the wires to the mech that is now not needed for the machine.
it's annoying as it recognises all the coins so far (at the right values) as well.
any other ideas welcome as well.
Cheers

Hi All,
Well I've been messing with the machine tonight.
I can say it's not the coin mech as the alarm also goes off when it pays out!
It passes all it's test as well.
Any ideas would be great as the machine is perfect otherwise.
Cheers all

Well a little reading the System 5 JPM Manual.
It seems that if the DC Electro-mechanical meters don't work then a alarm will go off... - are these the counting meters at the front (I have one for in and one for out) - I'm sure they are not working correctly.
Cheers

Ok final message for the night.
I unplugged the counting meter from the front and connected it up to 9volts - sure 'nuff the counting meter added one to the display.
I'm unsure if it's this thats causing the problem (but they are definatly not changing number when coins are inserted / paid out)
I think a circut tester on the wires will let me know or not.
Any other suggestions welcome. This is the first machine I've worked on since I was a kid and had Barcrest Autoroute.
Cheers
