Hi there, bought a Warped Machine yesterday, everthing was fine til I came home today to switch it on to get an alarm and the error message "23 reels 3 error"

Could anyone please help? I've tried tooking on the Internet and on here, but can't find much to do with this particular machine.

Thanks

Could be that reel 3 is catching on something open the door and make sure there is nothing it could be catching on, if that fails run a reel test and see what's up.

Hi mate.

What you need to do is put the machine into test mode -:

1) Open top and bottom doors
2) Press Cancel button
3) Press big button just to the side of the bottom cashboxs for 2 seconds
4) Press AND HOLD the "hopper test" button on the hopper
5) Press the test button on the main processor board
6) RELEASE the "hopper test" button.

Now, go into the "Reel Test" option using the hold, cancel and start buttons and alpha display, run the test and post the information it gives you, onto the forum.

Then we can hopefully tell you what is wrong :-)

I think that error is to do with the reel opto....

I have tried to get the machine into test mode, but dont seem to be able to get past the reels spinning (after switching it on), when reels one and two seem to align ok, but 3 sometimes spins for longer or drops in out of alignment, then there is a very loud alarm and the same message - 2.3 reel 3 err.

Looking inside the machine I notice that near each reel is a red LED, on reels 1 and 2 this LED is on, but on reel 3 it is off. Also on the large circuit board at the back of the machine there are 3 green LED's, left to right these are SOLID / SOLID / FLASHING.

Sorry I am new to this, so may have used the wrong names for things. I'm sure I'll learn from you guys in time :)

Hi PJ Whitehead and welcome to fruit emu

you would be right that u can`t get into the test when there is an error.

like rb said look at the opto

also look @ the black plastic tag that breaks the opto`s light
use a paint brush that is clean and brush over the opto for any dust/crap that has builded up on it.

resit the plug for the reels on the scorpion 4/5
the loom that runs from the reel 3 try also half in there is a joining block just check that there is a cable tie around it.If not your prob maybe there and not conected together in other words may have become loss.

also swap reel 3 with reel 2 to see if the error moves to reel 2
an old classic to is to check reel 4. I know the error is at reel 3 but also can start from the last reel and work it`s way back to the next reel in line that being of reel 3

when swaping the reels or removing any parts .Remove the plug from he wall first last thing i need to hear that u got a bang and a big flash of light.
.._-=It`s not a problem only a challenge =-_..

Thanks for all the info guys - after much trial and error I have narrowed this down to a loose wire on the connector (or the connector was loose itself) that leads from the bottom of the 3rd reel area up towards all the important bits on the reel that I don't know the names of like the red LED etc. Everything seems great for now!

Special thanks to impact as his suggestion is right and has solved my problem.

Thanks again!
