Not for a long time, as has been said many times on this site - it's current technology, and cannot be emulated. This site is primarily for preserving the nostalgic value of old machines, which are no longer available in the wild, and therefore emulation of said machines will not damage manufacturers' profits. Emulating a current tech and making it available on this site would most likely trigger a universe of lawsuits, which duplu (administrator), or indeed anyone else outside a mental home, does not need at all!

Hope this clears things up - now when can we have MPU5?

:) Thanks for that. It does. The main reason I would like to see it is because I loved playing Lotto Luck and Jackpoteers. Although a clone, 2 very different machines. And by forcing Lotto luck you could nearly allways garantee 100 quid! Unless of cause it had been chipped.

I've said it before, and I will say it again!!

If you want an MPU5 machine, just go out and BUY ONE!

They are inexpensive and make GREAT moneyboxes - add to that the fact you won't lose much when you sell it on, and you could change every so often, or even build a collection.

Spiker the Biker goes from about £150 > £250 as a price example.

P.S Don't worry about reliability on the MPU5, as long as it has been workshopped and everything seems in order when purchasing - I have had mine for about 7 months now, and it's been problem free, although the 1st reel is showing the winline symbol about 5mm below the other 2, which I will sort out later :)

Right... 2 points here.

1. This site is for archiving old techs not used anymore to avoid affecting manufacturers profits. Bullshit tbfh. This may be the reason this site is here but almost every arcade is running MPU4 machines....re-chipped or not.

2. Obviously someone has coded an MPU5 emu. Maybe someone from the scene here. Manufacturers have this......but it makes you wonder why they would commission an emulator which leads me to believe someone got paid. I might be making base for spooky conspiracy theories here but what would happen is this scene DID make an emulator?.

Would the manufacturers try stop us? probably
Would they take away all the resources needed? erm didnt they alreday do that? scene still here.
What makes anyone think that if this scene coded an MPU5 emulator (or even scorpion) that what scene we have would die? Just like the warez scene we will find people in the workplace to aid us. To goto even further lengths it would be possible for any of us to learn how to manage and fix machines and get access to what we need. Not forgetting the old "omg they invented digital cameras that we can walk into any arcade with".

I think it's only polite to the manufacturers to respect their products.
I also think everyone of us has paid enough in percentages to warrant access to this tech. Im in this to stop my addiction....my illness. Im doing ok now but I fear one day that the MPU3/4 (and other) scenes will dry up of interest. Where will that leave me then?

personally i'd invest all of my time in coding such an app. At least I will be spending my time and not what little money I have.
::First jackpot::-::2p-a-go Winspin::-::£1.50 jackpot from 4p gamble::-::was still in a pram:: Anyone fancy doing WinSpin? Cant find it and would love to see it done.

Only £500 jackpot on Little Devils which I got waiting for a Rainbow Riches (£70) feature to end. Then I got £210 on the feature on Rainbow Riches. My mrs was happy that day!

I agree with PJ, if anyone has an emulation program of current technology like MPU5, if it gets leaked all over the UK then yes, it can affect profits to manufacturers and arcades. There is no actual copy-proof software to prevent such leakages. However, if MPU5 is released by someone, then only machines like Eliminator and Each Way Nudge would probably be released because they are 5-6 years old and they have disapeared from arcades in my local area. I have not seen them since 2002. I will buy a few MPU5/Scorpion 4 machines when I have the necessary space.

I think you would find that, as is the case with the IMPACT emulator, SOMEONE would either release recent games, and then share them within a group, and then they would get leaked into the public domain, or they would be intentionally be released into the public domain from day one.

I HONESTLY think that the Manufacturers have been quite generous in the fact that they haven't closed down the FME scene yet, and also think that ideas such as the 'fairplay' campaign which showed the MFME being used on a T.V show will help to seal the fate of the scene.

I would prefer it if the/a MPU5/EPOCH/Scorp3>4 Emulator were not made available UNTIL Barcrest/Maygay and BFM come up with a new tech, which may be some time, but then may not.

Lets not risk jeopardising what has been created here just because people want to find out if cheats work on modern machines, ok?

P.S Feel free to disagree :) After all, it wouldn't be a Forum if people couldn't express opinions. Oh, and let me know what you think about my new Avatar, I made it at college in a C++ lesson :)
