Guys,

Does anyone know of any good free software that can record activity on your PC?

Basically its not to snoop but to make sure nothing untoward is going on, eg time on a site and/or keystrokes.

The person concerned is fairly clued-up with a PC so it has to remain hidden in its own right that can't be easily seen.

Thanks in advance.

Ady.

should have brought this up 2 weeks ago

My memories terrible =[

but i had this app downloadeed on my XP pc

took snap shots on set intervals
recorded key strokes when browser went to a certain site or all the time if you wanted
& recorded all sites that nhad been to & for how long & what they'd clicked on

best of all it was invisible :)

(it disguised itself as a windows service)

shame i gave that comp to my cousing & hes formateed it so i've lost it

il give him a ring & see if he remembers what it was called

Its called a keylogger and they are illegal, but you can get them if you do decide to use one buy one dont download a cracked one off a torrent site you will find that all the info is probably going somewhere else other than the email you set it to go

(keyloggers) They are pretty much all riddled with trojans to pass your data on. I wouldn't touch one since I gave up hacking as you need to really bolt down your connection even if you are thinking about it... Seriously I would think of another means other than a keylogger - which are illegal as far as I am aware anyway for this purpose.

Basically guy's it to make sure a teenage girl isn't being 'taken advantage of' hence me saying its not really to snoop as such.

Just to add onto my original post.

a PC anywhere type client will be your best bet - where you can see exactly what's on the other persons screen - there is the option to have this in stealth/ invisible mode on soe versions too - so they can't tell you are doing it.

I used to use PC anywhere and Landesk - but there are loads of similar products.

used this one before too

But always make sure they are configured correctly to only allow access to your IP address.

Another thing you can try is if you are using a router.

Some like ones from 3com, Netgear, and BT Voyager do have the ability to lock out sites by a url blacklist, and I believe they would normally return a 404 error, or will display a msg from the router, stating that the site is blocked.

I'll have a play with my Voyager 2110 later and see what it can do.
