can anyone tell me where the law stands if a fruit machine dos'nt pay all your winning's out and it show's how much it still owe's you.my mum was owed £45 from a machine today but she was told she must wait till the engineer come's which will be tomorrow and he will leave the money for her.the main problem is we have to travel 10 mile's to get to the place.

in my local pubs, it is usual to wait for an engineer to come and take a look although normally they give half money then other half has been, but this vary, depending on landlord/manager

Aparantly there is regulations under section 240 of the gambling act 2005 that the premises that the machine is located must have the winnings available at the time of collecting even if the machine fails to payout the full amount. you can google the regulations of section 240 of the gambling act 2005.

when you go back, if you get the money then there is no problem, if they start making up a load of BS then bring up the regulations of the gambling act etc.
