We need to get going with speed first but yes, we will be designing brand new machines and asking people to help with ideas too through promotion if that isn't too vulgar. A bunch of skill games have been developed too.

Peter Clayton

Can you answer a question (which I posted in the original UJ thread but was not answered)....How is this site going to be monitored / assessed that the payout percentage runs in line with the laws regarding fruit machine sims is fair, and more importantly who will monitor it....Are they independent from UJ?

I'm sure you will agree it is a very interesting question.

The percentage is strictly controlled by law and if you get that wrong you could end up in the clink. All games have to independently tested by an approved body from the Gambling Commission and this is very expensive to do and has been done. All cash is ring fenced and held by people like NetBanx not UJ at any point until funds clear and payouts have been made. All personal licenses have been granted and these include police checks and verification by your own lawyers and accountants. No business can be established until a 3 year business plan has been signed off and included within the application. Also, merchant ID's require vetting by one of the big banks before they grant you an ID so you can take payments electonically. The problem with the operator's license is not because of any irregularities at all, but legislation changes and we were a casualty of that but the Gaming Commission has no problem whatsoever with what we are doing, we just need to make a few tweaks on a technicality. No Director's of the business can operate if they have been bankrupt, have committed any kind of fraud or have any criminal convictions against them. Age verification has to be done independently and not by us and creditcard checks are rigorous and also independent. Equally, all the back end has to be tested separately and ratified before you can put it into use. On top of this, proof of funding and bank statements need to be supplied along with personal CV's, past histories in business and official documents supplied to companies house. I can't think of anything else just now but there is a whole ton of stuff that prevents us flying into the sun with a single penny.

Constantly, you need to submit weekly reports and monthly verified reports to the commissions that grant the licenses to you. This also included back end stats and not just written down figures in pencil. We are subject to the same legislation as people like Ladbrokes and William Hill as we will be on the same licenses. On top of this you have very onerous reporting business duties as defined in the licenses that they grant. Miss them and you lose the license. Visit the gambling commission website and you can see what the licenses allow you to do and what you have to do for responsibilities as a license holder and how to keep them.

When the final license comes through which is in the lap of the Gods and we can't do anything about it. Could be a week could be 12 weeks, we're as frustrated as anyone. Creditcard payments are backed by NetBanx and are guaranteed and bonded. We don't see the money at all as it is ring fenced until all payouts have been made. Anyway guys, this was about seeing if we could build the damn project before it grew arms and legs and now it has everyone is getting hung up on money. Your money is guaranteed, us making any is not. Forgot, any creditcard payments are not held within our own site either but on the banks or payment gateways.

Absolutely, every single game will have a free play option all the time. No one needs to play for cash but we need some to keep the damn thing going, Hopefully from the initial graphics and some of the answers I have given you will begin to understnad the level of investment we have had to commit to this (which surpised us let me tell you) and you simply have to make it pay when you do things to this standard. This is not knocking the emu guys at all as I got slated the last time I said that, this is for the back end stuff which is massive, complex and incredibly expensive. The emu stuff does not require most of this. Licenses range from about £13k to £35k depending on where you are sited and this is just for a single license without anything else at all. Per annum. Games, engine, backend, coms port, database, payment stuff, legals, number generator, age verification, it all needs doing or plumbing in as well.

Run it mate, you will get people who dont trust you and you will also get people who are willing to roll the dice. Your delayed start time only aggravated some members who were clearly 'chomping at the bit' to play this new game. As a member of the scene for 6+ years, I say good luck and I hope that your initial input is compensated. One q tho, are you worried about 'Treasure Hunter' and its ramifications? It is clearly a rip of Indiana Jones and maybe JPM might have something to say with regards to that matter!

You can find the winner of the iPod, for any competition that has closed on the main holding site. Just go to the bottom and click on Terms & Conditions and you will see it there.

As for Treasure Hunter, it is different enough to avoid any infringement and this has to be checked very carefully before you launch such a game, so we're okay on that score.

Fruit machines run in cycles.
What determins where a machine is in its cycle when someone first starts to play it?
After all machines cant always start in the same state of play as that would be easy to exploit.

Aha, it appears to me you are after the 'special sauce' formula! I will try to answer the best I can.

In terms of Fruit Machines - the games are fully controlled in terms of game state by the creation of multiple game instances and depending on the number of concurrent players there may be several thousand live 'game instances' for each individual title. When a player logs in to a title he will be allocated a game instance to play. If there are pre-existing game instances available the player will be given one of those and the player will begin his session from where the last player left off (as you would do if you walked into a pub). If no game instance is available (if all are occupied by active players) then a new game instance will be created just for you as if we have wheeled you in your own special machine on request. When you leave the session - then that Game Instance will likewise become available for others to play from where you leave off!! No two instances are ever the same, but when a game instance is created anyone allocated that instance in the future will always continue in the cycle from the last sessions end point.
