it does go against the spirit of emulation to have vip area's etc.However its a free world and if that is how you want to run this site then so be it.Looking at the bigger picture 2 layouts more 2 layouts less who cares no one plays them for more than 20 minutes each anyway.

As I have been mentioned in the beginning of this thread, I feel that I should put my point of view across for all it's worth.
Here you will find the thread and my posts: Union Jackpots? over at DAD's.
At the start of this UJ rumpus that has upset quite a few members here and on DADs as well, I had a post I made here 'post-mortemed' by Duplu against my doubts about UJ. I felt at that time that I took the brunt of the critiscism for all the members (which I can take) because as members here, we had a reasonable request of what was happening with the site, and UJ in particular because of their delays and their advertising banner here.
Duplu replied to my post in DADs, which I accepted in part, except i still do have my doubts about UJ, which I have made known to Duplu through a PM over at DADs.
It was after I had made this post that I found out that a VIP section had been created for contributors towards this site. I found that I couldn't download from that section, or post there either, but that in the past I had donated to the site (only Bronze I know, but it is still donations). I added that I thought that my money wasn't good enough or not enough to access this VIP section, but found out later, through a PM from Duplu, that only the silver and gold contributors had been given access and that bronze supporters hadn't been given the access, but that this was a mistake, and would be rectified. I accepted this, and was later allowed to download the layouts although wasn't able to post in that section.
After a PM with Duplu we managed to come to some consensus over the UJ fiasco which has caused some upset here, and as I stated to him too there was no ill-will made directly to him in general... it's just that this forum, for a time seemed to be running rudderless through situations that have occurred, ie UJ, changeover etc.
I do believe that the VIP was a thank-you by Duplu (although perhaps misguided) to all those who have supported the site one way or another, but it does go against the grain of FME of all members not being able to share from the FME community as a whole.
We have a great site here, with great members to boot, and we need to pull together to keep the site on track. I understand that Duplu has decided to call it a day, which is a great shame, but because (I think stanmarsh has mentioned this on a post on this thread) some mistakes have been made on this site over the last few days, lessons need to be learned for the future, and we ALL need to pull together.
Admin should now all be informed of any decisions and decisions that affect members of FE should be notified of any changes that will take place in the future (there is a section on this forums especially for that) ... after all a majority of members do donate to this site and it is a courtesy to keep us informed of any major decisions that affetc these forums.

Personally you had no business bringing into question what Duplu does with the site at all.
For years people have gotten above their stations and imposed themselves onto others asking too many questions.
The fact remains that money talks and bullshit walks. 103,000 downloads of the emulator, ONE EMULATOR. right below that, 42,000 downloads of noels house party.
That all costs Duplu money. In a convo tonight he confessed that he had done over ten grand into this place since it was concieved.
Did you know that? of course you didn't. Did you care? Highly doubtful.
The union ad is probably the best ad that could have possibly been put here. Simply as it fits with the theme. If gambling is so bad, so evil and so terrible why are you playing fruit machine emulators?
They emulate gambling machines that no doubt at some point in time you have done your nuts in, just like the rest of us.
Honestly, you really have no idea what goes into a place like this in the way of running costs. What does FF cost a month? about 40 quid? OK, now times the throughput and bandwidth by a hundred, then multiply the hosting done here (that isnt done at FF) and the flyers and god knows what else and give me a rough estimation of what this site costs to run?
See, in that one moment of clarity you will realise how pointless assholes like Stanmarsh are. Noone needs to discuss anything with 'their staff' the host of this site doesnt need to give any rhyme or reason for a god damned thing he does. That's his business.
However, after a chat with him tonight I think you'll find that sometime in the very near future you won't have much of a say in the matter.
Of all the things you have taken for free here you could never even begin to imagine what all that giving has cost the host. If you could you would be a gold member.
Sorry, but if everyone gave a quid even for the emulator they have downloaded (one of, like) then we would have 103 GRAND. In the fme kitty.
That means we could have bought nearly every used fruit machine in existance AND paid someone a good wage to give up their day job and code red, heber, sru and anything else.
but the fact is that the people who 'use' this scene do just that. They use it, and when it's gone they'll all f*****g cry and whine about it.

I cant see any problem with having a vip area, nowt wrong with rewarding members who contribute to the scene with new layouts first.
As a freeloading leach i'll be happy to wait a week or two for the outstanding layouts that this site supplies.
I also wouldnt mind if the site asked members to make a small one off donation to use the download section

Not being funny but I expected this when I realised who the layout creator was - I knew trouty would start an attack. It's marbles in the playground part 2 I'm afraid.
This whole Union jackpots thing is absolute bollocks too - a site advertiser helps keep the site you love running - I can imagine you would rather see it close but I wouldn't... You didn't complain about cyberlots you few are a bunch of two faced bastards if I am honest.

I can't believe this shite has started over here just because a couple of layouts have been posted to VIP members a few days before the rest of the community. What the f**k is wrong with some of you? Get jobs!!! Get other hobbies!!! Get a f*****g life!!!!
I've contributed previously to this site but was led to believe it was now self-sufficient...but would give again tomorrow if asked. No problems. I've spent 5 years here now and enjoyed most of it (until today).
Duplu, I urge you to reconsider your statement. Think about the thousands and not about the few who crave, nay DEMAND attention. It's those people you should be concerned about and not the usual suspects, (yeah, geddy, pandy, stan, etc....there has been too much bad blood passed between you to ever let things lie). What has been done is done. Let the rest of us enjoy this site....and if you all want to argue, piss off back to FF.

i have been using this site for about 3 months and i truly admire the ppl that make these fruit machines, when someone told me u can play fruits from the wild the exact same way (appart from a few little errors here and there) my eyes nearly popped out of my head when i saw what this site has, come on ppl must be over 1000 machines on this site even if i played all of em it would take me months to get through em, if there is a VIP section then GOOD as the ppl who make and produce and run this stuff to me are VERRY IMPORTANT PPL else all this wouldnt be here i know that im not important on this site if i left nothing would change but if the top creators left all we would get is a "internet explorer cannot display this page" as it would be gone so does it really matter there is a VIP section with DXs in em on prerealese just for them NO!!!!! as they create these... well i can only describe as works of art in tecnology, FFS do these ppl moan to facebook coz of the adverts NO BECAUSE ITS FREE same applies here its provided FREE OF CHARGE with the option to donate!!!!! i myself only understand the basics of how a machine works hence i leave it up to the pros to make them and i dont complain no matter what i think ive said my piece thanks for reading:bigeyes02:

If someone does not want to release any DX's as soon as they have finished them its down to them is it not?

Hello and good evening.
Firstly and foremostly I shan't be posting here again and didn't intend to at all. so anyone who decides to quote, pull to bits, rub themselves over and whatever else over this post can do so. It won't get read because I don't care. I no longer care and haven't done for a long time.
Clarification - I no longer care for a bunch of greedy squeaky tight ****s who take take take and then claim poverty in return.
It has nothing to do with stupid fat people. But more to do with the fact I am too busy to go on providing people with everything for free.
To anyone who has complained about the V.I.P area of this site let me explain something to you.
Alan (aka Duplu) puts this site on basically totally free of charge. He hasn't forced anyone to pay for it, and to that ends noone really has. A few people have piped up donations but nowhere near enough.
To that ends people who are crying poverty and complaining over paying a tenner? you make me f*****g laugh. how can you afford a P.C and an internet connection? The only reason you are complaining is because you can't have everything on this site for free. So STFU.
It's this shit that has caused me to feel the way that I do about fme. And why I f*****g point blank refuse to go on giving shit away for absolutely nothing anymore. Quite simply noone wants to share. Noone wants to help unless it helps with their gains.
As for me hoarding resources?
Let me clarify a few things there too, for the people who really do sit there and dream all day.
First of all most of what Alan has is there, waiting for you to put together. Don't f*****g come it about you can't afford a tenner and then do LITTLE TO NOTHING ELSE. You could ask, people are here to help and you could make a layout or do something.
Second of all in the last year I have made and produced in my time using my knowledge more fruit machines than the entire cumalative scene has put together. That spans over about 5 forums and about 80,000 members.
The only difference is that this time I wasn't about to hand them out.
It's no secret that Alan and I have and will remain to be friends. Or, the respect that I have for him for setting up this place. That will never change.
Thus, when we were talking the other night I suggested to him that he take my layouts and put them in the V.I.P area to attempt to try and take back a little of what he has given to this scene.
FFS, people have been whining about him advertising for Union Jackpots (with other charging services coming soon, watch this space) yet theyre not prepared to tackle the issue at hand and what has caused that.
IE - You're tight selfish ****s, basically. If you f*****g paid your way and weren't so f*****g spoilt he wouldn't have to run the ads to pay for the costs of this place. Have you asked yourself that? Of course you haven't you're too f*****g selfish.
And that's why the scene is where it is today.
See that fat **** telling you all what you should think and feel? Don't even get me started.
His postings, his starting this fight and Duplu calling it a day are all his fault.
Know why? because this has nothing to do with Duplu, nothing to do with these layouts, nothing to do with FME and nothing to do with the price of condoms.
IT does however have everything to do with one stupid controlling obsessed **** hating my guts.
So much so that he couldn't even STFU and not rock the boat here, he had to cause a flame war over it.
I'm absolutely disgusted at the complaints people have said here. About how they can't afford a tenner. If its genuinely that bad get the internet cut off. you don't f*****g need it then, do you?
Seriously, I can't truly believe how f*****g greedy and selfish people are within this scene.
Maybe me GIVING those layouts to Alan was a bad thing to do? Maybe I shouldn't have given them to anyone at all. Simply as no **** wants to wait for them or pay a donation to keep this site running. f*** the lot of you tbh, you're f*****g blessed to have even had the chance.
It's not even like he said you HAD to pay for them or go without is it? All he was doing was giving you tight f*****g scrooges a poke and saying "here, these layouts that you wouldnt have ever gotten anyway can now be had if you help me out"
But as usual everyone expects everything to be free.
As for what I'm hoarding? LMFAO. I'm not about to do a f***in Bullseye on your asses because I'd be here all night, but you've lost an awful lot to talking to people who do all the spadework like that.
Let me say something.
When I get in my car, and I drive to an arcade, and I take photos and come back and do a DX. You don't deserve f*** all.
Every single DX Alan has now could have been done by any of you. You're either too lazy or too f*****g mean to do anything that might help the cause.
And don't tell me what I do in my spare time belongs to 'Joe Public' f*** you is the answer to that.
That's the problem. Over the years people have been fed, and fed, and fed and fed and now they just expect it all to be handed to them on a plate.
Every single time a thread like this happens the cost of the next emulator gets more and more and more. Simply as less people help leaving the person coding it to foot the bill for things like data analyzers, logic analyzers, reverse engineering chips, buying a machine to take apart from each manu that used the tech etc etc etc etc.
And what do you get? every **** thinking it is their god given right to have it for free and then complain.
Sorry, but,
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Duplu. I deeply apologise for coming up with an idea that helps your site stay online and stay #1 in the world of fme. You have my number mate. If you want or need anything else then call. We'll just keep it away from this bunch of ungrateful #@#@#@#s.

I can understand how u feel, I was a member for only 3 years and decided I wanted to pay the site back for what I had got from it, 100% enjoyment. So I decided that I wanted to have a go at making a layout. I enjoyed the first one and decided to do more so the people on this site and other sites can enjoy them. I can't see why this is getting so out of control. If someone wants to make a layout for themselves to play I guess its up to that person if they want to release it or not. So why is this person a hoarder? They put all the hard work into making it so it's their choice. There is tones of stuff still out there that needs to be done and enough to go round everyone, we should all help each other and that way we all get what we want.
What does V-I-P stand for? There u go, so if your a VIP you are entitled to stuff the regular peeps cant get or have to wait to get, simple as. EG when you go out clubbing and u have a VIP pass, you walk past the massive que to get in and u don't pay the £12 on the door. Do you see all the people in the que shouting and raving WTF get back why should you have special treatment. Come on peeps get with it.

I think the point is that the model that Fruit Emu is running with at the moment involves the site owner putting his hands in his pocket in order for people to leech stuff for free.
I think he was trying to encourage donations so that more people would contribute and allow the site to continue. On reflection this seems quite reasonable as the leechers would still be able to get the layout at a later date. Surely this is preferable to having no site at all?
I expect DAD will welcome you all with open arms and pay for the hosting costs out of his pocket. Or maybe he will ask for donations and you will all ignore and he will have to do a section where only people who have donated get instant access to his latest low tech.
If you all love this site so much then you should contribute towards the running of it. I love FF and along with others make the necessary contributions to make sure it stays in existence. It would only take a few quid from those that can afford it to ensure the future of Fruit Emu and yet not many seem willing to even take this small step to help.
The days of everything being free are long gone. Somebody has to pay and if not the community and very people that use the service then who else?

I don't personally see wot all the fuss is about? Why should'nt people who donate to the site get to download some releases 1st after all they are helping to keep this cool site running!
I normally don't get involved in these arguments as i don't like drama although i do like to thank people here for their hard work for releases etc but i thought i would air my views.
Like i said i aint got any problems with people who donate getting their hands on new releases 1st as it was already said later new releases would be available to all in time.
I don't think it fair though to brand someone a leecher just because they download here and don't donate, I don't see how anyone here can say they cannot afford to donate a one off payment of £5 or £10 when they could easily save 50p a week and what they get its hardly breaking the bank is it!
I am always thankful for the hard work people put into making new layouts and i always leave comments of thanks, It is fair however to brand someone a leecher if they use this site and others like it to download layouts and sell them on ebay and i think if anyone is caught should be banned for life!
Come on guys i also have'nt got the time to learn how to do layouts being a single dad for 11 years on my own is hard work and very time consuming but wots £5 or £10 broken down over a period of time? you cannot buy alot these days with £5 or £10 after all since joining this site i have saved money by not playing the real fruities.

I normally don't get involved in these arguments as i don't like drama although i do like to thank people here for their hard work for releases etc but i thought i would air my views.
Like i said i aint got any problems with people who donate getting their hands on new releases 1st as it was already said later new releases would be available to all in time.
I don't think it fair though to brand someone a leecher just because they download here and don't donate, I don't see how anyone here can say they cannot afford to donate a one off payment of £5 or £10 when they could easily save 50p a week and what they get its hardly breaking the bank is it!
I am always thankful for the hard work people put into making new layouts and i always leave comments of thanks, It is fair however to brand someone a leecher if they use this site and others like it to download layouts and sell them on ebay and i think if anyone is caught should be banned for life!

I've sort of been away for the last few days and have had approximately 30 minutes to try and read as much as I can about what has gone on.
I have to say that I've always been confused as to why there isn't some sort of system in place for the sites self preservation. I've mentioned before about wether it would be a possibility to say 'throttle' peoples downloading to avoid the leeching that goes on. Whilst this is only one case I mentioned, it does still leave layouts free to all members but if you want more, then you will have to contribute to the costs of any bandwidth used. This idea was logically dismissed at the time it was mentioned but maybe something that should be considered.
Heading towards the more heated dialogue, I don't understand why Duplu feels the need to throw in the towel. This place has become pretty much the centre of FME and lets be honest, other sites have tried and never really got the blend to pull in so many members. FF has changed over the years. Some say due to how FME has gone. But this place is still here and is doing as well as ever. Surely a testament to Duplu and the team that run this place.
My personal opinions on things like VIP areas, well, I'm no fan of restricting stuff. And If i was here yesterday and the day before, I'd have been spouting my arguments but it looks like I've popped in as things are being cleared up. Thats why I thought a restriction to none contributing members by having a limited file number so only 2 or 3 layouts can be downloaded, or maybe a simple 10mb per day limit. This is what similar sites do to avoid the leeching.
As for Mr. T. Ironically, keeping his head down and saying nothing would probably have served him better in all this. As maybe the victim. But the long winded 'tannoy of righteousness' speech made me really cringe. Any higher ground pretty much collapsed when that post was made. Whilst in no way making a dig, I find one thing confusing. For someone who can't be arsed with the scene anymore, as I read in another post somewhere, why would you continue to make layouts? OK, you made them for yourself. That would be a fair and just answer. Likewise, you decide to release these layouts and your chosen method of passing them out could be seen as an honourable gesture. But to come out with that post is quite devastating. Insulting to the intelligence to be fair. Yes, you're probably damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. You didn't even post constructively. Just a hate filled barrage of insults to the members who simply use this site as it is set up to be. You put stuff out, people will take it.
Summing up, I feel this is another disastrous episode that handled the correct way, could have been very promising indeed. But instead, we have the hand grenade of self pity and the land mine of personal reward going off, and the owner of those 2 devices throwing a strop and kicking in the walls because his bombs went off in a barren field.

So whats the score here then ?
Is this about needed financial support in a time of need ? Or are we talking ' I have had enough of paying all this money myself ' ?
I would also like to think that there are a hell of alot more members here that although may not contribute, do respect and appriciate all the effort that goes into making layouts and sourcing resources and honestly would be willing to wait without complaint for any layout that had been previously released to those kind people who do support this site finacially.
Maybe a statement of your intentions ( asking for support ) prior may of been to the wise.
