Well, firstly, i would like to say hello and thankyou for this excellent site.

I was guided here by my good friend, the youtube legend that is buddylove4000, aka straekseims, without his guidance i would never have known about this place.

I am however having a slight problem using the MFME10_1a emulator.

I have only downloaded golden dragon and golden X deluxe so far, which both play well, although they play quite slowly, especially the golden X deluxe which plays very slowly. It takes about 5 seconds for each reel to finally roll in, (ding........ bomp.......................... bomp.............................. bomp)

I have checked the speeds in the configuration bit and its already set at 9999999. if i try any more 9s it crashes and freezes up.

I have also noticed that when the emulator is running, my CPU usage is up to 100% all the time, until i close the emulator.

Are there any sort of minimum system requirements to run these?? (im running XP SP3 and have a Pentium 4 2.53 ghz CPU, 1GB ram and a 512mb radeon hd2600 pro graphics card.)

It doesnt really matter that much but im just wondering if there is anything simple i could do to get it going at a more realistic speed.

Many thanks in advance, and again, thanks for this excellent resource!

some do run slow depends on the speed of your computer as for the golden x try running it in MFME9.4 i found it runs faster in that one

Think the problem is that the cpu usage is jumping up to 100% when the emulator is running and nothing to do with the emulator settings.

Why this is could be a number of different reasons..anything from spyware/virus (not in the emulator itself..but within the pc already) to a confliction of some sort with a program on your PC.

Is your Windows up to date with all the latest hotfixes etc..are you running the latest DirectX version..are your GFX drivers bang up to date..soundcard drivers up to date.

These kinda problems are usually hard to pinpoint..but with some investigation you should be able to suss it.
Mmmmmm...Sandy ive 'ad her ye know. :)

typical pentium 4 processor

they are designed to slow down when they get to hot and them processors get very hot anyway and with the mfme making it work hard it gets hotter and slows down

sounds stupid i know i have a 3.06 pentium for with exactly same problem and becomes comptletly usless

Cheers for all your help guys, using MFME 9.4 cured my sloooow reels problem.

the only thing i have now is that with some machines i have to put my screen to some stupid resolution to be able to see the buttons. (my little 16" moniter does not like running at 1280x1024 when it should be at 1024x768)

I guess i just need a better moniter, and PC!

I had a similar problem with mfme 10.1a too. My system is a dual core 2.4ghz overclocked to 2.9ghz, I have 4gb of ram and a 8800GTS graphics card so I dont think it is a system problem. It is not a problem for all games either. When I play Club Cash Bazaar it only uses about 20-25% of my cpu. When I play a game like Club The Gameshow however, it goes up to as high as 90%. I solved this by simply using an alternative emulator and just play the games designed for 10.1a in said emulator.
Let's smash Partytime.

Hi clarkey..does this to mine as well for some odd reason.

When the machine is loaded..double click the speaker icon in your tray and move the Wave slider bar back up to the top..then just close the box.

I've got this problem too, especially when I run games in v9.4. Just wait until it turns the volume up full which it does with some and you forget to turn the volume down. Gives ya a hell of a fright, especially with my speakers. :)

I had this problem with Golden Game too but I never thought about running it in an earlier version of MFME. I'm running most games on Windows '98 using a Pentium 3 processor and I can get most running at normal speed so it's definitely not a system issue. I did find however that games that use a lot of lamps slows the reels down, but this can be sorted by going into design mode and turning off the offending lamps. Doesn't spoil the gameplay that much.

I have to run everything in 9.4 now as the 10.1 version doesnt agree with my win doze x poo any longer, i just keep getting the classic 'this program has encountered a problem and needs to close' error.

I wish i still had win98, i never had any problems with that OS.

And your'e right todd, it never effects the main speaker volume, always the wave one. I also get a SND ERROR message on the bank/credits screen on most machines as soon as i load the machine, so im guessing thats the reason why it kicks the volume down.
