I tried this Double Deal machine in a bar after I read this post.

Put £6 in and had 3 telephones and decided to go for it, thinking aiming for a fourth telephone would be the death of me, that and I dont know if you can accept the deal after you hit the ??? on this machine.

So I went all the way on the single deal, got left 20p and MS and no dealed to get a £47 MS. :-)

Thats probably never going to happen again for me lol

The English market is going the way of the USA low techs has - effectively continually reintroduce an old idea. Have a look at what Bally, WMS and IGT throw out these days, you'd have though there's a limited to the number of double tripple 5-times 10-times 7-times diamond line tripple sizzling 7's jackpot machines - but no there's always room for another!!

I think what'll halt all this is not ideas, but simpily how much text they can fit on the front without using stupid tiny font - that or we are going to see a huge increase in 3-player units just to be able to show the machine names! lol

I played this last Thursday without even realizing it was a newbie.........I had a board though where I had 4 phones(both boards) On the left I had £35 and MS, with an offer of £35...and to be honest I didnt really notice the right values or offer but no dealt and got a £70MS............After looking at the high res picture someone posted It says inbetween the 2 boards........"Pressing 'deal' awards highest offer" and above that it says........"pressing 'deal' awards both offers (maximum Jackpot) So if I had dealt then would i have got Jackpot plus the other offer?? Glad I didnt just interested...?? ANIMO ET FIDE #12

This is how it works:

When you get the 4 telephones you have a good idea of the value and if you know this you can then take the bankers offer when you know you have 1p or a low value. If you think about it the following is obvious. When you have both boards lit the value on the reel MUST be displayed in both boards. So for example if you only have 2 matching values of say 50p you know the box is 50p. If on one of the boards you have mega streak lit and on the other you have a fiver for example the bankers offer on the 50p/mega streak will be something like £30. You take this offer as you KNOW the box is 50p. So you see, having both boards activated is to your advantage big time ;)

Hi Balar

Thats nothing Electrocoin have been doing that here in the UK since the very 1st Bar X came out, there have been more varients on a Bar X theme than enough from them, and that is not counting the Concept game and MAB conversion kits of them.

I think you'll find a lot of manufacturers 'recycle' the same games when it comes to gaming machines or AWPs as you call them. Even down here (Australia) we get the same thing. Everyone's probably heard of Aristocrat's Queen of the Nile many times but...

MK5 hardware:
Dolphin Treasure (1996)
Golden Pyramids (1996)
Queen of the Nile (1997), name change of Golden Pyramids, newer sounds
Adonis (1998)
---------------
MK6 Hardware:
Geisha (2000), also MK5 for New Zealand only
Torch of the Gods (2001), name change of Adonis
Queen of the Nile Special Edition (2002), 'special' version which gives out more games depending on how many scatters come up
Queen of the Nile (2005), start of the re-releases
Torch of the Gods (2005)
Geisha (2006)
Dolphin Treasure (2006)

Not only are they all the exact same game, they keep remaking them! Not to mention spin-offs like Spring Carnival/Roll Up! Roll Up!, King of the Nile/Queen of Sheba, Big Ben/Golden Gong...almost identical reels but different pays and features.

I see what you mean mate, and that does make it quite a bit more interesting. But you can't call it an advantage really - the machine is paying out what it wants, when it wants, regardless of how good the player's reasoning power is.

Compare it to saying that you can outplay Vivid's Connect 4 at the Connect 4 game. That may be so but you still don't have any advantage as the player.
