impluse wipeout sound chips needed

hi all again i have been having a problem with the sound on my machine it is very loud crackling noise then sometimes the sound works for a min i have just replaced the board with a new one and stillno joy i have been told it may be the sounds chips does anyone no anyone who can do these for me there are two of them on it many thanks andy

Did you try reseating the sound chips, and checking none of the connectors are bent? One of the engineer types around here is probably your best bet of getting this sorted. Could be anything - a dodgy wire connection to the speaker could be another possibility.

hi m8 yeah broke one of the pins so think need new ones

Search the internet for Maygay/Impulse spares and you might get lucky. Wipeout is pushing 10 years old, so you may struggle to find them but you never know.

At least the machine is playable, albeit with no sound. It could be a lot worse.

Unfortunately Maygay are now defunct so no prospect of sourcing the chips from them :(
