Hi again, just got this double top machine, it's an epoch system, and am a bit stuck because I'm totally new to all this. I've only had half an hour to mess around with it tonight so not had chance to really get my head around it, but somethings bugging me so one of you guys may be able to help.
When I put some money in and had a few go's, I had a win of £3. There was only £1 in the hopper so obviously it couldn't pay me out, but it didn't even attempt to pay out, all I got was a single farting noise from the speaker and that was it. I get the same noise when I pressed the red test button on the front of the hopper. Does the hopper have to have a certain amount of cash in before it even attempts to pay out, or have I bought a lemon??
More help needed for Maygay Double Top

I have seen machines that are very low (but not empty) on coinage struggle to pay out before. It seems that many hoppers need a good few coins in to work properly.
Why not try putting a good £30 into the hopper and see what it does. You should be able to hear the hopper trying to pay out, even if it does not have coins in it.
The farting noise you describe does indicate a problem - I thought it was normally damage to the system board. Check that the battery has not leaked all over the Epoch board or that there is no other signs of damage.

Sounds to me like the power supply is knackered. Happens all the time on our epoch machines.

Is there a way I can check the power supply, or is there any other signs that may be going on that the power supply is failing?
There are no error messages anywhere and everything else seems to work fine.

D'OH. After posting on here, researching the price for a new power supply, and even ringing a repair centre help line, I finally discovered it was all because I hadn't put the bottom door in place. Everything works fine now, and I'm enjoying my new bandit. And all for the princely sum of 30 quid. Thanks to everyone's postings.
