All the new Layouts use MFME 1.1 or JPeMu 1.46 if the DX has a .gam file in it it's a MFME DX and if it has a .jpm file in the DX its a JPeMU DX. New layouts do not run on older versions of the program.

and to further confuse matters BFMulator layouts also use .gam
Although having said that its easy to tell the difference, an MFME layout will have 4-6 files or so and a BFM a few dozen at least as all the lamps are stored individually.
For anything new MPU wise use MFME 1.1, it will also run all your old layouts with a couple of exceptions. Don't bother with MFME 1.0 unless you want problems with alpha displays.
