Hi there , i need the expertise of fellow users here. Last week i was playing a slot machine ( casino royal ) in one of the William Hill betting shops. Although i havent played the slot game and dont have much experience in the game play i ve lost about £500 / £600 pounds.

Basically the game has playing card symbols and multiple line wins , and when you get 3 cards pictures you get bonus , you are allowed to press or choose one the cards and it shows a bonus amount. i ve seen £20 / £50 / £100 / or less. Jackpot is £500. Last week i had 5 cards all come in at once and machine started flashing lights similar style to winning jackpots in fruit machines. Thinking of i won something big i got excited and started look around me then when i looked back at the screen the machine was frozen, crushed with an error messages below.
Software Check - 5
Software Check 4, Win Value - 13000
When i looked at the staff they were already on the monitor doing something. There was another 3 machines next to mine and they were working fine. Then they came to machine and restarted the machine. Which was working fine then but no win nothing. They called Global Draw which manages the machines for them and manager said that i ve won £130 and not £13000 there was no dot in the figures so i asked why £130 and not £13000 and they ve told me they usually knock last 2 00s. I ve got all the error messages and winning screen ( 5 cards in a row ) recorded in my phone.

Because i dont have much experience so incase fellow users here does or have played this slot game and if they can share any info would be great as i am thinking of sueing the company.

Thank you in advance.

This is NOT advice just an opinion.

Most machines of any kind usually say a software fault null's any game in play and/or wins. Saying that the HDD has recorded some kind of info as you saw it.

As you have the photo, I think my first step would be to contact the head-office and attach the pic.

Check the gambing commission's advice.

Hi Evon

Seeing as the jackpot value on the game in question is 500 pounds, there's no way you won any more than that. I would read the value 13000 as 130 pounds, zero pence. It is very common (maybe even standard) to log values in pence units.

William Hill would themselves be breaking the law if they were to pay you any more than 500 pounds as a prize for that one game. Look on the bright side - at least you actually got paid.

Evon knows that guy's, the question was what can he do about it?

As stated in several other discussions that people have had the outcome of any game is already decided prior to spinning in. What your seeing on the screen is what that particular 'game' in progress when it crashed was going to pay. People are correct in that the figure is pounds and pence - therefore your winning was £130 - you may have had 5 cards (or whatever) but no matter what you picked on the screen the total game win was £130.
The reason it has the pence format is that for obvious reasons you can get a game that gives you less than a pound (50p win). If no pence stated in the win counter it'd always look like you'd won 100x the actual win - thus what the counters display is the number of pence you have won 13000pence = £130
As the machine has clearly shown the win should have been £130 then in my opinion you should have been paid the money.
HOWEVER - there is usually the malfunction voids all plays and pays rule..........

James - If you spent more time learning to spell instead of posting shite in threads when you have nothing relevant to add, your life would be better for it.

Evon - Did you get paid the 130 pounds? If you did then that's as good as it's going to get because that was the amount you won. If you didn't, then you are right to be unhappy. The result of that game was a 130-quid win for you. If you didn't get the money the machine's metering will be up 130-quid, or someone else has had the money instead.

If they paid you anything at all, then you've done pretty well really. You'd be laughed out of court if you tried to serve them with a writ for £13,000. Even the "no win no fee" lawyers would avoid trying that on...

Reminds me of the thread i started about the rainbow riches machine. I was playing away and then 4 lines full of RR dropped in but the last line kept spinning and then came up with an rng error and the stupid lady turned the machine off and on to see if it would fix it. I never got my £400 so count yourself lucky m8 :)

Thanks for replying back. I never thought of figures would be in pences and that would explain why and makes sence now that you guys explained , but when the manager said they usually knock of last 2 zeros without an explaining it got me thinking.

The betting office manager is happy to pay £130 and i think i will accept the offer.
Thanks for the help.
