Hi Guys,
I sold this fruit machine to a guy and showed him it working fine. When he got it home, after a while it started alarming reel4 err 2.4 He brought it back so i refunded it. I have been working at it and it started working properly so i turned it off and on again and it gave the error again. I noticed that the led on reel 4 does not come on or some times flickers. I am thinking that there is some problem getting power to it but can't see to get it fixed.
Any ideas would be appreciated. The machine is a bell fruit. I have checked all connections and the seem fine. I never had a problem until he took the machine away so i'm thinking it has happened during transit.

That'll be the number reel at fault...Make sure there aren't any connections that have gone wrong, and that the opto is clean
As for where these connections or the opto are...Im afraid I dont know that much lol but there are plenty guys here who do know their stuff;)

This is a site for EMULATION purposes of older machines. Not playing strategies.

The LED comes on when the paddle goes through it. With the machine switched OFF, hold the test button down and then switch on. After a few seconds you should hear a "beep". The alpha should now display "Index mech test" move the reel in question round so the paddle is in the sensor. You may find it is slightly out. If so undo the motor and move round until it's bang in the middle. Now tighten it up and reset the machine. This should cure it.
A common fault with these is the plastic where the sensor sits gets warped so it won't detect the paddle going through it. Carefully bend this bit of plastic back square so it see's the paddle once again.
I don't often come on here as i find the older machines more interesting even though i know nore about newer machines, it's just that the Mecca's down

if it is a small yellow reel then it will be the crimped connecetions that are on the reel itself.
had quite a few of these bugger up and you are best to stick a small peice of solder on each wire connection on the reel.

Thanks guys. The opto has super glue on it cause the guy i sold it to got an engineer out to fix it and he glued a piece onto the opto and i pulled it off cause it was obstructing the reel from turning. This could probably be it, i'll let yous know.
Thanks again
Thanks again

i agree with baz, the engineer must be some sort of cowboy to use superglue
