Hello. Ive been looking around the forums for a few weeks and thought that I would finally make a post after my misses got a Bar-x £125 machine.

Now, I know there are plenty of posts on note acceptors but I couldnt find anything about my question, so appologies if theres a ton of information on them.

Am I right in thinking that on some machines the note acceptors only turn on once the hopper has reached a certain level, and if so is there anyway to bypass this so that it is always on.

Thanks

Dan.

Hi Dan,

As far as I'm aware, there is no way to set the note acceptor to 'always on', without setting the float level on the machine to a false value.

The issue with this, is that the machine will be backing (putting £1 coins into the cashboxes at the bottom of the machine, rather than the tubes / hopper at the top of the machine) when it shouldn't be, and is more likely to run out of coins during play.

If you want to risk it, put in a sensible amount of coins (on £125 Jackpot I'd put in an absolute minimum of £150, although you can get away with less if you don't mind it potentially running out during a jackpot), and see if you can find a 'hopper / tubes topped up' button inside the machine. Press it with a door open, and the machine will think it's full, and therefore take notes straight away.

Note that I've never worked on Electrocoin machines (assuming it's a genuine Bar X) so can't say for sure if that's how it'll work!

Cheers,

Ben

Thanks for your help. I see your point about falsely setting the float to full, the only reason I wanted it working was so I did'nt have to have hundreds of pound coins hanging about ready to put in. As far as I know it is a genuine electrocoin bar-x, Luckly I have the manual with it as I cant find that much information on it on the internet.

Thanks
Dan.

Any chance of a picture?

It's not the awful 5 winline one with ridiculously bright red credit / bank display is it? Where 5 x £25 winlines = £125?

:)

Played it in Skeggy a while back, actually did OK on it, but still wasn't that keen.

As long as you like it though, that's all that matters :)
