Im wanting to get access to clean the inside of the glass on the main feature bit of my machine, pics below to explain, theres mold spots, streaks and flakes of stuff etc on the inside of the glass and im wanting to try and clean it but can seem to find a way of removing the feature part. Theres two bolts that seem to hold it and ive tried removing them but it doesnt budge theres like sticky tape holding it to the glass and i tried forcing it but didnt want to break it.
Anyone know if im missing any easy way of removing this or is it basically not been designed to be removed, which im guessing is the prob but i thought i ask on here as you guys know more than me.

Thanks

A friend of mine had a simular problem, i can't remember how he got it off but when he put it back it never went back perfect. so i suppose you got to ask yourself is it worth it for some little streaks? and belive me a slightly wonky board is very annoying.

I think once the bolts on the side are removed you'll probably find that due to it being in the same position for so long it's stuck to the glass?

Sorry i couldn't be more helpful...

Peeps, this was a pretty good and interesting question he asked. Don't understand the reasoning for some of the replies - maybe people are just primed for "Can xxxx be emulated...."

I would advise to never remove the artwork from a machine. It can only be fitted just right by the manufacturer and isn't designed to be user serviceable. Things will be 10 times worse if you do.

They are designed to be removed and replaced by Barcrest's people or licensed dealers, so that they can reuse the cabinet, but you need the right equipment to do the job. You would also need a new artwork sheet because no way you are getting that off with no scratches or tears.

The new MPU6 machines from Barcrest come with artwork that is properly detachable by the end-user.

its not good to remove the lamp vac from the glass as the chances are it will peel the artwork from the glass

Agree 100%.

Unless you have several glasses to work with, don't bother. Even if it does come off OK, you'll probably have to spend ages with double sided foam strips re-attaching the bastard, unfortunately really not worth the effort :(

I'm confident that what this will mean is a complete upper door assembly - glass, vac formed plastics, wiring loom and lamp holders - basically just swap the whole upper part of the machine for a different one.

What we are talking about here is something not even the manufacturers would recommend. Pretty sure that if you ordered a 'glass' from a manufacturer, it would come with the lamp holding plastics ready attached because there is no way anyone can be expected to remove and then replace the plastics on glass without some damage.

Thanks guys im going to just take your advice and leave it. Its a bit of an ongoing saga, ill fill you in on whats happened.

I opened the top of the machine as you would do to top up the hopper etc and i cut a little hole in the corner of the feature wall (cant be seen when playing the machine) then i got a ruler and put a piece of cloth on the end and poked that in and successfuly removed the mold spots but left even worse streaky marks on the inside of the glass. Then i cut another piece away to allow me to get my hand in and wipe away the streaky marks, which worked but im the process of doing so ive left cuttings on plastic etc inside with the feature and blew out about 20 bulbs :(

Why oh why couldnt i have just lived with the mold spots so now ive got pieces of shitty plastic in with the feature window. I can live with it.

I guess that is exactly why. Just because we get 'Can it be done?' some people automatically assume 'emulation' even when it has already been pointed out not to be the case.

Some folks don't read and just wade in, hence my post above. ;)
