Morning,

I need help please, I recently bought a Barcrest Austin powers mpu5 machine, all was working fine, until to transport the machine i removed the front cabinet and the 3 main reels.
Once i reconnected the main reels everything works however they are completely out of sequence, they spin fine and pass test but the pictures and numbers don't correspond to what the machine thinks they are??.

I am sorry if this is a quick fix but I am baffled:err: I have tried swapping the reel assemblys and still its out.

Any help would be great.

Thanks Mark

Hi Kriss
Thanks for ideas mate, I have tried all combinations of swapping the reel assemblys and during test and reel stepping , the alpha diplay doesn't say what it meant to be shown?

Thanks Mark

Make sure as earlier stated that the reels are in the correct order, also make sure they are plugged into the right places on the reel driver board. The best way to check this is when the machine is resetting with the door open keep hold of reel 1 and it should alarm and say on the alpha display reel A or reel 1 error. Do this in sequence for all the reels to make sure they are plugged in the right place. So for instance if you are holding reel 1 and it says reel 2 error you know they are the wrong way around.

Hope this helps

I had this exact same issue when I took the reels out of my Austin Powers in order to scan the bands for Moco's excellent DX layout. Nice to have my reels in there :D

I used trial and error, installed one of the reels in position A with band A... didn't line up, so tried another physical reel with the same band... again, not lined up... tried the last one, sorted :)

You could realign all the reel housing motors in their housings to make them 'universal' but there really isn't any point if you were happy with how they were before.

Also note that the reel housing not being pushed correctly onto it's mounting bracket on the reel shelf can make quite a difference to the winline being dead straight, so check they are all pushed down as far as they will go (without snapping!)
