when i close the front hood of my fruit machine (i say hood i mean the front panel that lifts up to allow access to the inside, hopper etc) and lock it there is alot of movement in it, is there any way of tightening the lock or is there something i can tighten? Ive had a look about and theres nothing obvious i can see that needs tightened.

sounds like u need to replace the lock cam as it may well be to short
or
the lips on the bar which slides across need adjusting

Its a barcrest cab, it locks ok and theres not much movement when i try to lift the hood but its very slack and moves alot side to side, ill take a closer look at the lock itself and see if i can adjust it. Thanks, do you guys reckon a new lock would fix this?

with the door open pull the bar over to the lock position if the bar moves to the left then the cam is to short
if the lock is ok its either gonna the lips on the bar like i have already stated OR the cabinet is fooked

from looking at that pic the cam on the lock looks abit long to be able to go in the full lock position
if so its gonna be an hacksaw or grinder jobbie

u can get all different sizes and if the cam is too long u can jus hacksaw or grind it down to the required size
