on the mpu4 mainboard or if an mpu5 again on the mainboard

Also depending on age, it will be either blue / green, and poss say Varta Mempac on it.

If you need a replacement, the following is a good place to look (He's also a member here): Varta Mempac fruit machine battery 2.4v **SALE PRICE** on eBay, also Machine Parts Accessories, Fruit Machines, Coin-Operated, Video Games (end time 24-May-09 10:15:55 BST)

If you do replace the battery, make sure it's the same voltage, and that it's a NIMH equivlent (Nickel Metal Hydride) which is normaly green (Ni-Cad's (Blue) have a bad habbit of splitting and leaking, causing very bad damage to your system board).
