Hi i installed it again last night to see if was any differant but still the same there is no error code it just says internet explorer has stopped working close the programe. So i've blocked it from offering me an update of it again.
Like I said previously, you have to go to the event viewer to find out error codes etc, they dont just show when the program terminates, the computer makes a log of the error and stores it under 'applications' in the event viewer. If you go there and look, an error is easy to spot, having a red circle with an x in it. It will also have an error ID which you can search for online.

Had IE installed via a manual download on one of my rigs..... so far, no issues, apart from one with Norton IS 08, where the Phishing protection keeps switching off soon as I start IE 8. A minor issue.
As for IE itself, do not like it much at all, with all the added bells and wistles on it, so will only use it when running MS updates.

Try under 'Windows logs', application. If that has 'gone back', then guess its a mystery!

Guessing it's that Rapport app they was offering on internet banking.
May have to go full on with it too, as the phishing protection in norton for some odd reason keeps turning itself off.

dunno if this is relevant to you tommy...but i have had install issues in the past over ie 8..and ie7...went to microsoft and found this little..(its microsofts fault/glitch)..tucked away on one of their pages
apparantly when installing ie7/ie8...if you are fiddling about messing wiv yer comp while its doing it..it can skip a few files which WILL cause your problem
(not a complete uninterrupted install type thingy)
ALSO and this is a crazy bonafide fact...when it tells ya to restart..immedatly after install..if u were to press "later"....which most of us lazybones do coz were doing summin else....this will ..and often does to me..result in a corrupt install
SHIMPLES.....LOL
ANYWAYS..all ie,s are shite and slower than ff on the whole..
try apples SAFARI..thats pretty cool...and quite nippy..(well it is for me)
