Can anyone tell me the name of these quiz machines:- 1) It was multiple choice and it was snooker style scoring to win money. 2) All I can remember about this one was that you won the money depending how many bar`s you lit and it was like a snake trail. Are they done by jpm of are they done on the MAME (multiple arcade machine emulator)???

PLEASE HELP!!! QUIZ MACHINES

Sounds like Pot Black!
Not sure whether quiz machines can be emulated.

I don't think anyone has wrote a mame driver for pot black and the like.. Would be very cool though. The newer quiz machines such as the megatouch range run on pc's. However they use a hardware dongle in the form of a PCI card so they would need to be cracked. I have never been able to get hold of a mega touch CD even though i have tried.

Megatouches? No chance - the PC that could emulate those has yet to be built.
Speaking of this, does anyone know of any particularly good quiz machines, maybe with some idea as to their hardware?
I can only try to code what I know of, and my memory past JPM Cluedo is very poor (I'm not even certain of that hardware)

Oldish ones would be
BFM - Telly Addicts, Top of the Pops, Radio Times - scsi CD-ROM / 3+1/2 Floppy
JPM - Cluedo, Monopoly, Scrabble, Coronation Street, Trivial Pursuit, Hangman, Battleships - IMPACT Tech - ROM Chip
Maygay - Super Clue - Epoch? - Scsi CD-ROM?
Thats all the ones I remember, probably not the most accurate list but would be something like that.

Thanks for the information, I'll be sure to look out for them.
Incidentally, regarding the other quiz machine related post, Dialtone is working on MAGE, but is doing some of the other technologies first.
