i will be honest they look good and so do the red gaming machines but u will only see these in pubs as if u put these next to a £500 jackpot machine £1 a spin no one would play them so its a shame but i think this could be the end of machines as we know it there will be no going and having a few pound for fun anymore just people spending everything they have looking for the big win its a sad sad time in my eyes thank god for this site

But arcades are going through a bit of a revival, the focus is now a serious professional gambling atmosphere, similar to casino's..and punters are lapping it up.

Gone are the days of a busy arcade, we are now left with more the 'dregs' who haven't quite graduated to betting office / casino play.

Apologies to anyone that is offended by that, but it's true. Note that the above applies to AGCs (Adult Gaming Centres), not the usual child-friendly £5 Jackpot / Pusher / Grabber type arcades.

So, do these have a 25p play £15JP win table with the last gamble from £15 to £70? I see £1.60 and £2.40 still on them. So you win a pound, and have to win 3 successful gambles to reach £2? If a 25p stake game has a minimum win of £1, then surely these would give somewhere around £4 as the minimum win.

So, you win £1, gamble to reach £1.20, exchange for feature, go around the board and inevitably lose or you're forced to take £1. WOW, seems like a great deal of fun for my £1 per stake. Unless I get on the feature board with every spin. I can't help but think these are still those £25JP machines that were rechipped to £35. And now rechipped to £70. Highest win £70, second highest win £15. No doubt going lower than a 12 from £15 for the £70 will land a nice 12 and a 1/2 lol.

So in reality, we are just having the jackpot itself raised. Yet theres a fantastic opportunity to change the games altogether with a winplan thats relevant to the stake. Why not add a £30 and a £50 win? Scrapping the shitty £1, £1.20, £1.60 wins that you will never collect. Something better like £2, £4, £6, £8, £10, £15, £20, £30, £50 and then £75.

I'm not a fan of these increased stakes/prizes and I'm certainly not impressed with how these new machines have their winplan.

Well to be fair they are trying because the top end of the ladder goes £25,£35,£50,£70 then MS. Plus the lowest cash you can win on the DOND feature is £1 Yippee!...

I don't know if it's just around here as I have stopped going in arcades last few weeks anyway but most of the arcades seem to have had a resurgence in popularity, all seem to be getting busier and busier - not just the £500ers either as you always get 1/2 people playing all four of these... lots of grannys seem to be back in playing the oxo's in my opinion too... I think the arcades like everything else have been hit by not smoking and online gambling and machines in bookies, however this simply will lead to them having to find a new business model which works... I have no doubt that they will and there is no nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned for the forward thinking arcades.

I see that most the ones around here now have 3/4 10p play old school machines (battleaxe/ holy grail/ italian job etc all in arcades near here as well as lord of the rings and a few othes of that period) and I think the £5 jackpot 10p machines allow a decent enough mix for those that have room for them while still allowing the big jackpot for those who wish to chase the big jackpot (remembering if these people are addicted they will only go in the bookies/ online anyway)...

Plus i suppose another reason with the decline of popularity is the fact that there so cheap to come across on the likes of ebay, so really you'd be better off buying your own and saving money in the long run.

well where i live 1 couldnt find a £5 jackpot (central london) so i had a word with one of the guys who worked for one of the main arcades here and said no 1 has the money now wouldnt it be a good idea to get a few £5 jackpot machines in to keep people coming in to play he said thats a good idea i also said maybe a partytime £5 would be nice as well dont have any here then 2 weeks later i went in and they had 7 of them sorry to say they aint ideal more oxo and machines like that plus the £25 jackpot sit down partytime had to changed to £5 10p play its nice to see they take notice for what people say and ask for to me its simple a few years back people had more cash they dont now so give them lower jackpots and they will still have a little play

so i have to say welldone to Agora for seeing what people want and then doing what they ask it makes a change

There will be a blip - people will play from curiousity (probably I will too) - however when I get my first fleecing (I remember a £100 one recently from Red Gamings Indiana Jones - with these new stakes it would have been £200) I will stop playing.

The manu's are being so short sighted on this. Look at how the amount of manufacturers has contracted in correlation with the increase in JP's and stakes. I remember when £4JP 20p play were first introduced in 1987; there were so many different independent manufacturers, simply because demand was there for reasonably priced entertainment machines. There are now just two; Games Media et al are not manufacturers, they piggyback on MPU6 and Scorpion Techs.

I keep saying it - the end is nigh for the AWP. Why? Greed.

ive read many times in coinslot, how Barcrest have geered themselves up for this new £70 jackpot. in reality, all they have done it seems, is taken existing code and placed a new £70 jackpot on it.

£1.20 and £1.60 wins? WTF! you could have a 4 reeled club machine with £70 £1 stake and have fantastic play..

PCBP has the option to have £75 30p 86%, and it plays a fantastic game.
