Any ideas to what i will need to do? if i will have to change something could you use step by step instructions as i am new to the whole machine fixing and still learning the in's and out's.

My dad has a Barcrest MPU-5 machine, Monthy Python. When i put in change (10's, 20's, 50's) they go down to the cash box, but the pound coins dont go in to the hopper or cash box but into the back of machine.
Any ideas to what i will need to do? if i will have to change something could you use step by step instructions as i am new to the whole machine fixing and still learning the in's and out's.
