I guess nobody wants to share the PW for PubQuiz?? Please help?!
Also, how would I go about adding other games to the IND:E front-end menu? Other than renaming the folders / exe files, which it appears has been done in this download?
On a final point, I can confirm I have had ALL these downloaded games working FINE, on Windows 7 (launching the game in Windows Compatibility Mode) - with the exception of the Poker game. (not the Poker QUIZ, the other one).
I would love to know more about how the IND:E emulator itself works - is the developer around on here? There's 2 emulators I have - one came with the download, and has a constant £40.00 credit. The other is made by Platform1 themselves (maybe for testing, I don't know) and allows you to "insert" credit etc.
My ideal would be to have the 'emulator' on a separate machine, so I can charge my friends to play!!! (well, would like to prove the concept anyway!)
Cheers all!!

Hi, i have asked this before but nobody seems to know how to change the front end because i have 48 swp games and i do the file name changing process to rotate my games. Do you fancy share the platfrom 1 emulator?

The Platform1 Emulator does, essentially, the same thing as the IND:E one you can find on here.
From what I've worked out, the IND:E backend just provides basic info over TCPIP, message packets such as "SHOW BANK" etc to which IND:E replies to the games.
So in essence, if you're not running it, there'll be no connection on whatever port(s) it wants, and therefore you will get the 'Platform not supported' or equivalent errors.
If a game won't work with the current IND:E emulator, it most likely won't work with the Platform1 emulator either. They do the same things. The Platform1 emu lets you see the messages sent and received, and "insert" money - that's the only difference.
I would share the Platform1 Emu, but it's not my place to do so. From what I can gather, it's "closed" software from Platform1 Games (or whoever they're called this week). I came across it bundled with one of the other SWP game images, but, if you've already got the '48 in 1' you speak of, you'll already have it.
If you really can't find it, and you believe after reading all the above that you really need it, then if you send me a nice PM, I'm sure we can work something out.
As for the 'game rotation' thing - I've not worked that out yet... the game files and the 'list' files are not simple text, so they'd need looking at, but you can see some meaningful bits... like which games are in which folders.
Investigate, play, you'll get closer, as I'm doing. If I come across a way to force it to rewrite (which is what I reckon is needed) I'll post back.

Yeah after looking on my dvd found it with skill ball bingo lol did you get your disk from ebay as well because when i run the inde sim which is supplied with the disk it says enter note acceptor code and then says updating pci card then restarts and same happens every time but the one i got from this forum i think 16in1 works but can not add my games????

Glad you found the Platform1 Emulator. I wasn't sure about saying where it was in case I got anyone (or myself!!) into trouble.
If you follow the instructions, you won't need to enter the Note Acceptor code. The contents of the CD *have* to be in a folder called INDE in the root of the C: drive.
i.e. C:INDEinde_cursor.exe
and C:INDEGameFolderGame.exe
If you run anything above WinXP, make sure inde_sim.exe runs as Administrator, or better, in XP Compatibility Mode (which creates elevated privileges anyway.)
No, I didn't get the disc from ebay. Actually, I don't have a disc at all... I'm just tenacious enough to stick at something and leech what I need / want in an effort to understand the stuff better, so I can help out.

youbrokeit, Thanx 4 ur info... I was just wondering if u could clarify something for me...
When I run the IND:E_ cursor.exe it, brings up the note acceptor screen and requests a code, but I just click the cancel option at this point, it then runs an update for the PCI Card, then does a reset, and it does this all the time and I can't go any further...
I have just downloaded the INDE_sim file, and this works a treat... but I would like to use the front end program?
Can you help please?
Thank you in advance.

Are you running it as Administrator / XP Compatibility mode (Vista or above)?
Is the INDE folder in the ROOT of the C: drive?
C:INDEINDE_Cursor.exe etc.
Remember, all the files in the archive have to be extracted to C:INDE.
The Graphic System error could be related to missing files (check that everything in the archive is also in C:INDE). Failing that, it could be down to a Codec issue (Codec = COder / DECoder) - a number of the actual IND:E games require different video codecs, such as Intel Indeo, and the like.
Google for K Lite Codec Pack and install this. There's no viruses / nastyware in it, and it'll install all the codecs you should need.
----
ON ANOTHER NOTE:
Does anyone have access to a real-live IND:E machine? And if so, would they be willing to do a little investigation for me? I've discovered that, to update the games, you'd need to do it through the system menus. You can't access the system menus unless you can manipulate the door-switch and other hardware switches. What I want to know is, does the hardware switch send/receive a message in the same way that the IND:E emulator does, or does it somehow interface directly? If someone could stick wireshark onto their IND:E and run a capture of a coin being inserted, all the doors being opened, and running through some of the test menus, it'd be really really useful... I'm not a programmer, but I can't think that it'd take too much to find out what goes on, and then implement it into the INDE_Sim program.
ON AN ASIDE:
With a little bit of firewall redirecting, it should be possible to run the INDE_Sim (or the Platform Emulator) on another machine... it's just working out which port is listened on, and redirecting it to another IP on the subnet.
FINALLY:
Is IsoMick a member on here (he created the INDE_Sim apparently) and if so, does anyone know how often he's around, or how I can best get hold of him?
FINAL EDIT: If anyone would like to donate me some casino cash, I'd be really very grateful, and I'll give you... er... actually, I don't have anything to give in return.

Youbrokeit - have you managed to get to the system menu yet, we must be able to access it some way because all the images for the system menu are located in the inde folder and thats how we will update our front end to hold more then the 16 games currently preloaded because i have 48 games and would like them all on the front end. Also maybe somebody could emulate the new INDE 2 that looks mint but i think the key to doing this is finding a machine we can get the image from?????
Well keep us posted with updates bud ;-)

Hi again i actually have been buying elo touchscreen from somebody who does INDE quiz machines, i just checked the domain from the emails she keeps sending me to my suprise to find out its a quiz company now from what i understand with the INDE we all currently use you can only have a max of 16 games at any one time, thats why INDE 2 was designed so i think we need somebody to emulate this platform i maybe wrong but its just what i've been told by her????

Not only that, but all the handles for the system menu, update systems, test menus etc are in the inde_cursor.exe - we need to figure out how the test menu is accessed on a real machine. I'm guessing it's to do with the door-switches. So we need to know HOW these door-switches are interfaced with the IND:E PC, and whether we can emulate that, or if it's hardware. The only way to find all that out, is to find an IND:E terminal or someone who has one, who'd let us play, or run some code on it.
I'm happy to work with this if anyone can find me a terminal, or at least, the PC / Interfaces from it - I don't need the screens / cabinet etc.

Aesimhei.dll

*goes away to look into the DLL file*
It *SHOULD* be possible to write a little app that hooks that DLL and will change the state of the switches. Beyond me to write it, I think, but I'll keep digging, to see what I can find.
Roderz - do you want to lend me your aardvark???

The functions of the DLL we need to use are:
switchopens(x) and
switchcloses(x)
I presume x is the number of the switch. The hardware unit shows there can be 16 separate switches, so I guess x is a hex digit. We're getting closer!

Apparently, the door is already showing as being open.
Whether that's coming from inde_Cursor.exe or one of the DLLs, I'm unsure as of yet.
C:Logxx.one shows:
17:51:14 - INFO - c:indeMultiHandBlackjackMultiHandBlackjack.exe launched
17:51:16 - INFO - Game connected
17:51:16 - GAME - SHOW_CURSOR

So there has to be a 'Test' or 'Config' button. HELP! lol

i usually get 500+ when signed in, and its stable
or just use the mega media manager, that also helps
as for ftp, it was hosted by cliff but i havent seen him around for a while and i think he closed his ftp, but the repro is still open
