I've just bought an nv8 note acceptor for my deal or no deal machine and fitted it but can't get it to work. Tried all the different settings but no joy. The light on the acceptor pulses on some settings but it just takes the notes a little bit then spits it out. I've pressed hopper top up so its nothing to do with that. Should i be doing anything else. Cheers, Dan

Been looking at the technical manual i got with the acceptor and it says if the green led is flashing slowly (which it is) then it is in RUN mode and ready to accept notes but i'm guessing i need to tell the machine that i've fitted it by pressing a button or entering a code? Anybody any ideas? Cheers, Dan

What switches are on, (on the note acceptor itself)

Make sure sw 1&2 are down (off) and 3&4 are up, this set it to cctalk mode

I'm assuming it should be cctalk, how many wires are on the plug to the acceptor? (4 if cctalk)

The acceptor is set to cctalk mode but how do i enter the encryption key? What do i enter it on?

Got the key entered and it recognises the acceptor and it works in test mode but when i shut the cabinet up it iniatilises then says note mech error 15. Any ideas what this means and how i can sort it? CHeers

If it's a Scorpion 5 machine with the CC talk security update then DIL switch 13 on the main Scorpion 5 MPU needs to be set to ON (turn off the machine before setting this). If this is OFF you get the error you are describing

Its a scorpion 4 machine but do you think i should try that anyway?

just off topic, i been reading all posts all day and although at the moment my technical knowledge on these machines is low, i have learn t so much here, and by the time my 15-20 home private arcade is finished I will thank the lord and you guys for all the help and all the knowledge... so although its in the wrong thread.. Thanks to all who contribute !
