Just to let you all know that Fruit-emu will be down for a short period this weekend. The downtime will most likely occur on Sunday afternoon and should be for no more than an hour.
During this time the entire site will be upgraded from PHP Nuke 6.5 to 7.0. What will this mean for you as a user :
I will be installing an attachment module within the Personal Messaging system so that you can attach images and ZIP or RAR files when you send PMs other users. Each user will be given a finite amount for attachment space, when this is full you will be required to delete older PMs with an attachment.
Hopefully an end to the 'invalid_session' messages which some users are still experiencing when posting in the forums, even after some changes made by Wozza.
Images attachments within the forums will now all be thumbnailed. This will allow for quicker loading of messaged for users still on internet dial-up modem accounts.
The site will be slightly faster and will also have several obscure security holes closed.

Heres me hoping that this upgrade doesn't f**k anything up!!
I was going to use Nuke for my website, then I was going to use plain PHP, then I was going to use html, and then my site never materialised because I had bugger all to host!!
[crosses fingers for a trouble free upgrade!]

Suggestion ....
I am a member of a football supporters forum and on our board, when your mouse cursor is positioned over a thread header then a yellow box appears and gives you the first few lines of the posted thread, this would save opening a page that you would maybe not open if you knew what was in it.....just a suggestion mind....keep up the good work you fruit emu'ers

Gulp, and we said it was unlikely to be upgraded. But I think it is probably unavoidable. There are several security flaws causing problems with other sites at the moment, so lets hope it stops any other attacks.
Fingers toes arms everything crossed as we know this site means a lot to you all.
I am sure all will be well as Duplu is becoming a little php guru.
Will be looking forward to any new bells & whistles that you haven't mentioned. And I am sure there mat be a few teething problems but, when has everything gone exactly to plan.
So you have been warned, if you need your fix, download your layouts before the weekend.

The upgrade has pretty much gone to plan. Most of you won't see many changes, the changes are mainly in the background code which runs the site.
Reply to this post if you find any problems with the site, I'm still mopping up some little 'issues' and installing a new part to the site. The things I know about are :
Messages appearing around the outside of the SPChat window about not being able to find a file - Doesn't affect the operation of the chat though.
Same file message at the bottom of the file upload window.
