This could be an interesting development :)

Would be nice to see a JPM Video machine emulator out eventually, seeing as the classics like Cluedo are 9 years old :)

Does this mean Bellfruit's Slots and Payslots could be
emulated eventually?
(as they can be found on www.nobilco.be)
They were very popular in Belgium about 5 years ago.

I have been looking for emulations of these for quite
some time now, but without success.
If anyone has more info on these, please let me know...

And still we work... MPU4 is a sod, because I know that someone has a driver for it, but I can't find him - from that, I should be able to plug it into some fancy new code, and maybe get it to crash in a spectacular way - as everything else does right now.

In % elcondor, how long do you think it will be before we see a beta release? We'd all love to see your hard work in action/progress.

Percentages are tricky, so let me tell you exactly is in place for each technology.

IMPACT: Nothing - although the author of JPEmu is working on MAGE, it is unlikely that anything will be done in the immediacy. Shame really, but it's worth sorting out the older techs first, as they need preservation more

MPU4 Video, tried to set something up for the standard MPU, not really working. A If the video MPU driver ever arrives, and is any good, things may speed up, but there's nothing concrete.

Bell Fruit - Scorpion 1 and 2 are partially emulated, a system is established to emulate the non-video techs, with the hope that the Adder video board can be added when more details arrive. CD-ROM games on this hardware are not emulated, as MPEG decoding violates the source license. A workaround is being actively sought.

Coinmaster - preliminary, displays some graphics, but cannot decode everything.

Here's a quick question, I'm not sure how to do polls on this software, so anyway.

One of the suggested workarounds (when we get around to putting something together), is releasing a 'normal' build without the MPEG support, and then an 'extra source' so that people who want it can buld their own, unsupported version.

This would mean extra work for you, and downloading a few tools.
On the other hand, it would allow support in fairly easily, without the legal problems on our side (we're not forcing you to include it, at your own risk, blah, blah blah.)

Bear in mind we're nowhere near this stage, what do you think of the idea?
