went on connect 4 last night in a pub ....this is the first time i played it. soon as i put my first quid in it fell to the bottom ....i ended up putting 120 quid though it then it gave me 2 jackpots thats 50 quid at the end, i had 1 pound already in the bank...thats 51 but it only paid out 50 pounds then the hopper was empty..why was the pounds dropping with only a 50 pound float???????it sound at least have about 100+ before dropping

i doesnt mean its rigged as such. wats more than likely happend is that a £50 pound float was put in the hopper and then the hopper topped up switch was pressed telling the machine that it had a £125 float.

this will not affect the way the machine plays, but it will go empty £75 pounds too early. maybe its a genuine error, or its a method that some operators use to help prevent emptiers, cause youll only get £50 max.

Or maybe what happened to me happened to you. The 51st pound got stuck preventing any more from coming out. The machine gives you an IOU for the remaining money. I'm finding this happens more often than not recently, it's due to people putting coins in that are covered in crap normally from stuff spilt in the payout tray and coins being soaked in that and put back in. Obviously the soon dry out in the warm machine and all thats left is the sticky residue.

thanks for your reply noticed as well that they always seem full when i go on them ....but thought they might be doing what the bookies do and top them up first thing of a morning....hopper was empty it was spinning for ages with no sound of pound coins in there...they have 2 machines connect 4 and card shark and that always seems full too.....can you really set a machine to pay a max of 50 pound out.....

Yup, you can tell the machine it has 125 in the hopper, but it is a case of how many coins are actually in there. When I had my first machine on £5 JP I set the Hopper Balance to £50, and when you hit the 'topped up' button inside, it thinks it has £125...therefore hopper can't hold over £50 - anything above it goes over the back.

What is interesting is that when I got my Spiker back, without floating it [i.e on an Empty Hopper]...it paid out £125 within £5! It knew it had no coins in, but becuase machines have to pay out to percentage they IOU....thereby also clearing up the 'the techie emptied the machine so it can't pay out' type stuff....unless of course they short the battery as well.
