Hi Guys,

I have a screamin Demon fruit by Extreme and it keeps resetting. There is a constant loud ticking noise from the speakers when it is on but hasn't booted. This can last for 5 mins. then it makes attempts at booting until finally it boots and then resets a few seconds later.

Anyone any ideas.

The machine was working fine a short while ago.

Thanks but I don't think its the power unit because LD3, LD4 and LD5 are always on indicating that there is voltage going to the board.

The symptoms definitely sound like a PSU problem. You get the constant booting issue on all kinds of electrical items that have a faulty PSU. I think it might be worth changing it out as it is not an expensive part. One of the techys will be able to correct me if I am wrong, given that you say all the voltages are present at the mobo.

Its not the PSU guys. I changed it with one from a working machine and still the same conatant clicking. Then after 1-5 mins, it reboots and stays active for a while before backing to the loud ticking. Any other ideas?

The battery is fine, no leakage at all. the board is clean and so is the whole of the inside of the machine. I will check the eproms and report back.
