Rite was in the local arcade and decided to give this new machine they had in a go. It was DOND the big deal. After about 7 spins @ £1 a spin I got on the board, went round a few times and got up to £40 on the cash stack, I had 3 ask the bankers. I landed on a question mark and decided to take the ask the banker. First said that the next number will be a 11 the next said that cash or bust will be mega streak.

I was like nice £7 in and a deffo £70 out. So went to hit the cash or bust button and to my shock and horror it did not work. I was like WTF I went over to the lady and said look I have the MS but cant collect it as the cash or bust is not working. She said it was not working and never has. I was like nope this should be working as it says on the alpha cash or bust will be so and so. I ended up with game over on the question mark so was so pissed i stayed on it. Bad mistake, it cost me almost £300 to get another ms that only went for £70 and some small wins after.

Today I went back in and one of the bosses was working (very strange as they never normal work in the arcade just empty the machines) so I asked him. He told me that the button is not connected with any wires so they had called bellfruit and asked if this was correct. They then told him that the button was not used on this machine and that was the reason there was no wires to connect to it.

When talking today I said how can this be rite? I said it says on the screen cash or bust will be mega streak so if it says it then it should work. So i asked him to play it which he did and i showed him what I was talking about.

Few quid in on £1 a spin and on the feature he got got 2 ask the bankers and the first was cash or bust will be 50p. Told ya i said and he was like yeah but no but. I said it should work and in the end he agreed with me. He gave me £40 in coins to say sorry for the loss of my mega streak (£70) and said he will call bellfruit again and ask why it says in the display that the cash or bust will be ?? if it is meant to be disconnected.

Not happy that I was only given £40 but its more than what you would get from most other arcades.

TBH the guys there are OK, if they are in they will sometimes fill ya bank up with £20 or so ££'s which i know you would not get in most arcades. Just that dam button pissed me off.

Has anyone else played this machine on the new £70 JP and could they tell me if the button should work? Call the fruit machine :policeman::policeman::policeman:

I smell bulls**t. Seriously, I'm out of the loop on TSBs now (Technical Support Bulletins - basically when the manufacturer announces that a scam / emptier is about, and they announce a fix), but if a machine offers MS through a button, and that button is disconnected, that's crap.

Probably find that at the close of the arcade, staff will pop the door open and reconnect the button, claim the MS and disconnect it again.

If there was an official warning on the Cash or Bust, then the manufacturer (in this case Bell Fruit) would bring out a software update which would cure it, OR remove the functionality - not just disconnect it so you still got offered it and then not pay it out.

Either that or another button played up, and an inept 'technician' removed the microswitch to use in another button, wrongly assuming players wouldn't mind missing out on the Cash or Bust option.

Is this the Enterprise chain arcades ? Renfield St ?

If it is they get right on my nerves, under floating machines that do well over the float which automatically pays out every win.Leaving you with no chance of an instant refill from the staff.Could easily be Mitchell's too though >?

Oh dear, I'm probably gonna piss you off now but

Cash or bust button only works before you move on feature entry and then you have to wait till you land on a ?
So basically you had MS but you had to land on a ? before the Cash or Bust button is activated. There'll be nothing wrong with the button.

I think he was on ?, he took the banker's messages and then tried to CoB.

Which arcade in Gloucester was this? Ah, it must have been Raffles, I was over there recently looking for another type of machine (Elvis - Pound Dog) which I didn't find, even though I was barking in the rain.

I also had a look for RobinHood75, but didn't find him, even though I did stop off at a petrol station and I had a quick look on a FOBT to see if Reel King had paid a jackpot.

i think it was gambo who said it, if you tryed taking cob when you wern't on a ? then it wouldn't work. Sure big deal is one of the ones that doesn't activate till you land ? then after 5 seconds on a ? it then becomes deactivated again.

Your right, its like that on any DOND machine, if you leave it too long than you've blown your chance. Which really isn't fair but im affraid its just the way there made.

I've been having a little think about this some more and I think, although I can't be sure that when you press collect it will offer you the cash stack, the fearture stack and then the cash or bust.
I aren't sure if it does this on all DOND's but some defo do this.

Quote from document:
Cash or Bust
This is available anytime the feature is active. When pressed it can award a cash value or feature from any part of the machine. Using the best win currently available to the player it performs a fair gamble internally between a much higher and much lower value, and, following a dramatic visual, awards the player the result. Lose can be an outcome from this.
Does this appear to be the case in most circumstances?

Depends on your definition of a fair gamble. Obviously it's a compensated machine (it pays out according to money in and out, not a random number generator).

A very simple example would be 1000 numbers in a hat. Pressing Cash or Bust could pick one number, and award the feature or cash amount on that ball.

Now - being compensated, the 'values' of the balls could vary loads. If the machine owed a lot of money, there would be more higher value balls, less 'lose' balls... lets say 500 balls of £5+, and only say 100 'lose' balls... but if the machine was dead, it could have say 50 winning balls (1 per feature, cash amount, e.t.c.) and then 950 'lose' balls.

Both examples are 'fair', but the outcomes could vary dramatically.

I'm not saying that's how Cash or Bust works, but that's a simple way that it could be implemented.

I can see what you meen, its a bit like the randomness of a B3 i guess. But the classic 4reeler DOND is utterly bad when it comes to C.O.B, even when its happy it still likes to land on lose.
