Hi,
Just saw on ebay a guy selling a CD with roms and emulators for section 16 machines like Rainbow Riches... apparently they're available in the public domain for download. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've searched all through google and i cant find anything.

They are not 'properly' available - and the Barcrest ones are *not* emulators, they are simulators. They popped up, then some legal threats were issues, and they vanished again.
If you want to play machines like that, I recommend you go to Sky Vegas and play them on 'Demo Play'. They are pretty accurate versions, made by Barcrest themselves, with good graphics. They've also got some other interesting games you might recognise on there
Obviously it's also possible to play for real money on there, so if you genuinely don't want to potentially get 'sucked in', best avoid the site altogether

The only problem with sky vegas is that you need to be connected to the internet at all times, even on the demos. For me that is a problem as I am on 3G and it will often disconnect. Then what ever I had will be gone.If you have Sky TV you can play a few on there. (Interactive button > 6 > Sky Vegas).

I think that sky Vegas is the best. The amount of hours I have spent staring in to reels spinning, Getting a smile on my face when I here the rainbow riches sound, Shit I am actually sad.
