I have just recently downloaded a machine called grand prix can any1 please suggest some more machines with the lines at side like twilight zone etc?? As me n my mates cleaned many a machine out like this, purely by playing them a certain way , i remember once playing one in a pub and the landlord had called an engineer unbeknown to us he had been watchin us play (and empty!) his beloved machine and when we finished he even asked us how we did it PMSL! Of course we never told him but as we were doing nothing illegal or untoward he was powerless to do any thing, it was quite an amusing moment in my gaming history but as i recall the fault was soon rectified and all like machines began to not conform with our playing!! that said we made enough to travel the country finding them for 3 wekeks and my mate got a new astra GTI so not all bad eh??

You'll find that these versions of the 'Sp.ACE games you are fond of, 'Twilight Zone', 'Grand Prix', 'Open the Box', 'Play It Again', all suffer somewhat in comparison to the ones you played in the wild. If you can imagine the landlord of that pub getting the engineer down to check out the machine, no doubt many complaints went towards ACE, the machine manufacturer due to players being able to 'manipulate' the machine to some extent.

There were 'free wins' on these games when they first came out. Some of the 'Band-Aid' wins and the odd feature were free wins. That means if you got these wins, the machine ignored them and never adjusted the gameplay to recoup the win paid out. In short, you could ignore all wins, just aiming for these 'free wins' and empty the machine and still leave it in a happy, ready to pay out state.

Unfortunately, we have later roms for these games. With all those 'free wins' and slower 'Nudge Quick' features removed. Leaving a relatively boring game that rarely streaks. You'll probably remember that these games streaked for £50. Also having a £50 maximum bank. Not ours. Too many re-chips' have taken all that away. They are still enjoyable to play though. And if you look hard enough, you may find the 'Open The Box' £4.80 token roms that were released some time after the official £6.00 release version. Still a late version of the roms but the 'Nudge Quick' (£2.20 (3 x Yellow Bar Exchange)) feature doesn't cheat and gives enough time for jackpot every time. Those roms allow you to play for the Band-Aid wins too. Not just giving the shite lines which the really later roms did.

Infact, just for you, here is 'Open the Box' running the £4.80 version of the roms. The machine graphics show £6 but watch when you first load the game up in the dot matrix window. It's indeed the earlier £4.80 version with fairer gameplay.

Indeed this earlier version 0.4 is actually emptiable. It wasn't a manual trick like earlier versions, it was a naughty plugging scam, similar to pretty much all other emptiers back in the early 90's
