An arcade in town has been doing promotions to get more players in.This weeks is cash match, spend £5 on 50p play for £5 free, £10 on £70 jackpots for £10 free and £15 for £15 on the £500 jackpots, plus raffle tickets for cash draws. Is this a sign that arcades are feeling the pinch or just a gimmick to get you in knowing you will probably spend at least twice as much?. I took advantage and stuck £15 in a £500 monkey business and got £15 free, and stuck it on 50p play. I came away with £27.50 after £30 of play so a nice £12.50 profit.

One of the things that pi$t me off about Quicksilver is that they always stick the % for hi-techs at about 86% for about the first 6 months then its right down the rock bottom 70% for the rest of its life.

And their tea is like fairy liquid.

Are quicksilver still doing the 5 'o' clock special where you spend 5 pound to get 5 pound and a snack.
Hello, mother. I come bearing a gift. I'll give you a hint. It's in my diaper and it's not a toaster.

Think your big enough to take on a bar of chocolate. http://yorkie7808.mybrute.com :biglaugh:

Nothing new in this sort of thing Rizz. I remember Smokey Joes in Cheltenham - pay £2 once a month and come in every day to collect a 10 pence token and be in a draw for £5 worth of tokens to be held at the end of every month. It got you in there every day, though with 1 10 pence token you couldn't do much damage.

Yeah they are always trying to entice you to stay that 'wee bit longer'..

My local Quicksilver used to have a trolley type thingy full of sandwiches..mars bars..crisps..pot noodles..cup a soups etc.

The guy or woman used to say tea or coffee ? I was always like 'nahhh no thanks' although i did take a coffee once and Ziggy is right it does taste like wee-wee..but it was 'Well ok..if theres anything ye want just gimme a shout..and help yourself to anything ye want off the trolley'

Ye could have yer breakfast..lunch and dinner in there if ye wanted..although i think thats thier gameplan if yer hungry and want to go get summat to eat it means leaving the arcade.

The last time i was in there about a month ago they didnt have all the food out on offer anymore so they must have binned the idea.
Mmmmmm...Sandy ive 'ad her ye know. :)

The one i go to is 'Reel Time' when you go in you get a raffle ticket thats goes into a draw that takes place on a saturday for £25. On a sunday its £5 match and play. Plus theres the odd game of bingo, full house for a tenner that goes into a machine of your choice.

this type of thing has been going on for years even in the days of token machines

thomas's in leicester and quicksilver always does this promotion to attract money spenders.

in token days it was spend a fiver and get £1 worth of tokens free.

tea and coffee is free anyway for customers who spend

i used to give £5 worth of credits to everybody who spent their initial £20. I thoiught this was a fair system that gave you better value for money.

in addition, every 10 jackpots (whether they be £5 £25 £35 or £500) and you got that value again in credits.

was I mad to give away £500 ??? how mach money do you think it takes to win 10 x £500 jackpots ?

if it was a chick that asked for your number then i guess u have pulled lol

if anyone asked for my number giving an excuse of a promotion then i would tell em to fook off

its bad enough with random callers asking if i wanted double glazing ect without nobles and clan adding to it

my local arcade in truro, cornwall is Camalot Casino Slots.
if you become a "member" you get a loyality card which you can use once every day on a computer terminal that houses around 5 diffrent games (video scratch card, fortune wheel etc) top prize is £500 which has been paid a few times, but on the whole you win nothing or £10 free credits on any machine.

I am a member but i refuse to use my card as i think is a way to keep tabs on who is in the arcade and when.
I dont like that!!
In fact i tore up the card as soon as i got it. the only reason i became a member is to have free tea and coffee, because under there old system, you had to pay if you was a nobody off the street.
