short version -
play when cashpot is full and reserve is at least half. play for cashpot only, when you get it then gamble all out for the jackpot. this is the only way to get the double. the single jackpot, just play all out and ignore all boards.

our Club recently put up the Jackpot to 250 but it does have the option of 10P spin if you press exchange pressing start will give you 20P spin.

Nails that's not really good advice. The cashpot and jackpot are saved from the same cycle, it won't give both together, it either gives one or the other, and when its ready for cashpot its also ready for jackpot AND vice-versa. This is certainly the case on the newer versions, ie. classic/gold etc. I should know, I used to do them regularly on ferries years ago.
Once you have got the cashpot though, as its a cycled saved win, you can play on and get wins upto £75 for a while, depending on how much the cashpot cost you to get. If it costs £200+ then you can get a good £100+ sometimes from small wins (£15-75) afterwards. This is why it is better to get the cashpot than the jackpot, as the jackpot kills the board value (wins upto £75), where the cashpot doesn't.
On this one in question, where the cashpots are both on £250 all the time, you can't really play it unless it's doing obvious signs ie. holding WINS (not the feature) or giving 4 of a kind wins on the reels.
As nails said on counting up ones the cashpots need to be £250 and half or more on the res. although I'd be dubious if the reserve was over £160, as it could have given jackpot rather than the cashpot recently, hence the figures misleading you! This was VERY rarely the case on ferry ones though, as all the pro's would play for the cashpot not the jackpot (remember if it's ready for jp its ready for cashpot, and vice versa), as you got the after wins.

One thing i've found is when i think i'ts due for the cashpot in the club alls i do is hold the cashpots anywere in the windows and try to get em in view. So it's possible to achieve with 4 nudges had the cashpots loads of times doing it that way.
