Is it possible to save the game manager scan results. So not needing to scan each time i run the emu, saving a lot of time.
Would rather use form game manager, more so for when i can get (not yet) the fruit machine sreen shots to show.

If you don't want to scan the game manager on start up don't open it just go to file/load game then choose which game you want to run, a bit quicker doing it that way.Is it possible to save the game manager scan results. So not needing to scan each time i run the emu, saving a lot of time.

Thanks i have been doing just that. The game manager has more of the machine details and infos, more than a machine name has. Reson for needing to save the game manager scan, for next time i run mfme.

for a speedier search, split the games into categories and stick them into a directory

Wow that would take some doing and even be longer than sorting each machine into its own folders.
There has to be a way to save the scan, it should do so itself. But maybe needs a stub file presnt to do so, thats missing from the mfme installs. Without it no scan is saved, so needing for a new rescan each time run mfme.
Besides seeing the details, i can also see which machine has it roms files, and the machines that can be run. I'm sure the developer would have made auto saving possible, just how to invoke it.

lmao - ask him
it scans them so it has the up to date information and there was no autosave of the results - you should probably read some old threads and the about section of this and other similar sites rather than just opening threads with these questions on - it will be interesting/ answer all your questions/ and mean we don't have to laugh so much - good luck

Mfme 3.2 will save the scan history if you go to file prefferances the check the start in game manager icon.Every time you open mfme 3.2 it will open the directory scanned with all the games ready, ONLY 3.2 though.

I did do a search first, nothing found.
Seems v3.2 has everthing while v9 and v10 versions were updated to support new roms only. Why take out all the important needed other features!

Maybe they were due to go back before it leaked - it is history now - seriously live with what we have and if Guitar's FMEF comes to fruition, or Wizard decides to release another layout, then we may have an all singing an dancing emulator.
Or write one of your own then you could include whatever you wanted.
I personally often wonder how much it would be, if we specified full and detailed requirements for an emulator and then sent it off for coding to a bunch of Indians or Chinese?

Nothing was "taken out" of v9 and v10 - It was never in there in the first place. the v9/v10/v11/whatever versions of the emulator were private development builds that existed as a development bed for new stuff. v3 was specifically coded from scratch as a separate project to handle that auto-resizing malarky and stuff.
From the point of view of techs/etc, those were hand-ported to the public build in order to remove both techs that were not (at the time) wished to be released, and to remove partially-complete code updated that cause problems to already-working games (largely due to being erm unfinished lol).
In terms of what features made it into the emulator and which ones didn't, that's a big can of worms. It ultimately came down to one person's choice (not mine!).

I've lost count of the times I've hit Game Manager instead of File then have to wait ages for it to find everything before I can load a layout..
I blame myself being too quick
It's still a pain though...
