Ok guys i need a massive hand here because i cant sort this out myself at all, there is a fair bit of reading to done as well so just preparing ya's lol. I promised to sort my gf's laptop out for her so she brought it down today and holy f*** it needs some work first off the memory was sitting at like 1gb and the capacity is 80gb lol so it was running like a snail so that was no major problem cleared bout 40gb easy and have it running at an ok speed. So she asked me to have a look at the internet because she wasnt able to load any pages up which i thought was a connection problem as she was using wireless, so i tried my ethernet cable in the back and got a connection straight away and thought happy days i then tried to bring up a web page and the laptop hung for a few secs then brought up IE and looked like it was trying to load the web page and then nothing the bar just kept moving across with the screen remaining white. I tried exiting and restarting and this time only the little clock came up for every address i entered. So i have since tried all the following i've reset IE to default which had done nothing i've tried disabling the internet and re-enabling it and nothing, i've made sure proxy's aint ticked i can't think of anything else to do without being told so can anybody help me sort this??? I was thinking of just doing a clean install of everything but she only wants this done if all else fails women ehhh lol

firefox = the best

IE usuially closes for DEP

kind of retarded letting their own app force its self to close for accessing data on the HDD
