Hi there. I am about to buy a 90's Return of the Pink Panther MAYGAY fruit machine which I have been told has a fault. Basically when you play with cash the alarms go off, but if you set it to freeplay it pays fine. I am assuming it is not something simple like the hopper not being filled with cash, as the bloke I am buying it from has owned it for about 10 years and used it all the time so I would imagine it is not that simple. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this might be?? Will have more info once I buy the machine, going to look at it tomorrow. Any help and advice would be most appreciated. Cheers.;)

Sounds more like a coin mech fault - but I am sure someone will come along later and either confirm this or come up with something else it can be.

Problem with the coin mech

check all the connections and press the coin reject button (do this with the machine off) and part of the coin mech will move

pull the part forward that moves (but dont snap it) and with a very slightly damp cloth just clean the plastic covers behind it and let it dry then try again

Hi thanks to both of you for replying. Since I first posted this I have discovered that the battery has slightly leaked, basically its fuzzy on the underside, doesnt look like it has sprayed the board but one of the prongs is also furry. I now wonder if this may also be an issue?? I will try the tips suggested, the machine is currently being refurbished so cant turn it on at the mo. I have been told that I need to remove the battery asap and then wash the board with vinegar and then rinse it, then replace the battery, does this sound about right? I have been speaking to a chap off ebay who sells the replacement batteries.....it is all very bloody confusing:arghh:
