just to let u know its not the people that work in the arcade itself i have the problem with but the guys who come and try to fix the machines. They use to be ok. When they was in the arcade they would fill ya credits up with about 20 to 30 £'s but not so much any more. I have been asking him top put some lapms on the reels of a 10p machine for like 9 months now with no bloody joy.

To be honest mate this fella sounds like a right crook and so your being a bit of a mug by going on his premises.
It sounds like he's blatantly ripping people off by purposely altering machines to his advantage. He needs to be reported to all and sundry to get him closed down.
But if you keep going back to his arcade then you've only got yourself to blame for losing money. You won't get it back as all the laws are on their side.
Get on to the council and get this theif closed down, the way he's covered the Cash or Bust button up proves he knows what he's doing, it's not just a simple button connection problem. He's probably re connecting the COB button after hours and nailing it.

Seriously m8 go back in there with a flat headed screw driver and pop off the start button and then use your long nose pliers to cut the wires short and then walk over to him and say "bellfruit say you dont need this start button to play this machine"
He will instantly BAN you and your Winning already

Everyone knows i love a gamble (you tube shows that lol ) but there is One arcade i wont ever go in round my way and that an arcade where they watch you pump a machine then after hours they get there son to cain it as hes a bit of a player its a small family run arcade in hunstanton you walk past at about 10pm and it will be locked up but through the window you can see him playing the 18s machines with his mum n dad SPA will probly know where im on about lol

Thats it tho i know that they are not doing that(reconnecting the button at night) they are normaly an ok arcade but just tend to not give a shit if a machine has blwn bulbs, good eg is in his other arcade he had a 10p 5jp the mob it had about 17 lamps missing on the feature board and countless all over the machine and had been like that for ages. It seems to me that the new machines they will fix the next day and other like the 10p ones it dont realy give a dam about. There is three of them that come to the arcade on fillup days to do all the housekeeping stuff and they fix the machines then. Like i say the 25,36,7o jp machines he will fix and have running as soon as but this stuff with the COB is different. I will go back in the arcade today and see if i have a reply.

oooo, name and shame bud. Betting it's the bastard @ what used to be the old pier.

I was down Hunstanton the other week, and met one owner who I can describe as about the best arcade owner I have ever met in my life, and seams this same chap, is also known to us at The Mecca, for scanning a stack of flyers for us.

Place is called Andy's up on the main seafront road, and has a nice collection of classics too.

he does but he plays the over 18s when they have been pumped i will agree he has a nice few classics in there which i dont see em play, but i did one play a 5jp one with Hi/Low cash on where the board is like a spiral could be called "rock n roll" made by barcrest
and after i put about £20 in he was standing behind the machine as soon as it was droppin he came back round the front to watch me so i didnt leave it till i got most of my money back and that was the last time i went in there probly 2 years ago
I will agree he is a decent chap but you cant run an arcade and then play all your machines when people lose its hardly fair to anyone is it they make money when you spend money so its a cheek to then win the money out aswell. but alot of people in hunstanton know so most dont go in there

He was certanaly very helpful towards me mate, who was concidering dooing the market on a sunday (Mates buisness: The Neverland Music Company).

Seams like the one @ Castle Donnington..... shite, and full of boot-leg crap!

He did tell us one amusing thing about the place next door, the Iraq bloke, who shoved posters up, death to the Alied Troops..... place got bricked! :D If that was in Nottingham / Derby, place would have been fire-bombed ;)

dunno about that they have owed that building for about 15 years n they are Proper Minted my dad used to have the music shop in there he was there for 26 years up till Jan this year then he was the last person left in the building all the other shops where run by them, then they just took the p**s with pushin up the rates year on year and eventually dad had enuff and got out as well (basicly they had been poppin each shop in there off so they could turn it into 1 big shop for themselves) which they have now done but bussiness is bussiness so up to them init,
I usually walk round an arcade ive never been in b4 and count the bulbs that r out on machines if i see one with more than 5 bulbs out its sets the tone for a shite place to be in lol

OK have found out that the company that own the arcades is called fruitstems LTD and is owned by a guy called john caprianini, not sure of the spelling as its Italian or something by the looks of it.

John is the one who comes down and fixes the broken machines and was the one who took the COB out of the COB button. TBH the way he he runs his arcades is a bit of a joke. So John if you are reading this get ya arcades into order and fix the bloody COB button and the reel lamps on vertigo.

Just found this FRUITSTEM LIMITED sure that's them but when u ring up and ask for the phone number on directory enquiries they have it as the Gloucester arcade there is no way to contact them directly.

You've probably gathered from all the replies now that it's meant to work.
But i'll throw my bit in too, yes it's meant to work, i've played it and used the COB button several times.

Just to let you know that the guy from the arcade gave me £40 in cash today, not happy but at least it's something. He said for me to get backta or the gaming commission to come in cos as far as he knows the COB button is meant to be disabled(told by bellfruit)

quite simply: it cant be emulated, and i cant be bothered to explain why. just dont go around asking/looking for any sort of new machine as you will be dissappointed

I would also contact your local trading standardsand found this on the Commissions website.

How do I complain about a gambling transaction?

All licensed operators should have a clear policy on dealing with complaints.
This policy must include the process to follow in making a complaint and it
should be readily available to you in writing.
1. Complain to the operator concerned providing as much detail as
possible. It is worth while keeping a full record of the complaint.
2. If you are not satisfied with the outcome ask the operator to provide
details of their appointed independent third party to whom you can refer
your complaint, free of charge.
Always exhaust the operator’s complaints procedure before looking at other
alternatives.
What happens if the independent third party does not find in my favour?
Normally that will be the end of the matter. The Commission is unlikely to
reopen the enquiry unless there is clear evidence that the operator has not
complied with its obligations.
However, please note that since 1 September 2007 gambling contracts have
been legally enforceable under the Gambling Act 2005. If you think you have
an actionable case against an operator you should consult a lawyer. The
Commission does not give legal advice on this or any other area.
What happens if the operator has not dealt with my complaint properly?
If you feel that an operator does not have a proper complaints procedure, you
have been “fobbed off” or the operator cannot provide details of an
independent third party, you can complain to the Commission about the
operator’s failure to operate a proper complaints process.
If the Commission thinks your complaint is reasonable then we may take this
up with the operator concerned. Such complaints may not be dealt with
immediately as the Commission may choose to record your communication
for ongoing monitoring purposes, but you can expect an acknowledgement of
your complaint within five working days.
Can the Commission help to get my money back?
Generally the answer to this question is no. The Commission has no power to
order an operator to refund stakes which have been freely placed with an
operator or put into a gaming machine.
If an individual has lost a significant sum of money this may be the catalyst for
recognising that they may have a problem with gambling. In such
circumstances the individual can ask an operator to exclude them from the
premises or website and should seek help from one of the problem gambling
organisations.
Licensed operators contact details for Great Britain
If you want to make a complaint but do not have the contact details for a
licensed operator:
• the Commission’s public register of licensed operators provides basic
details
• if the operator is a member of a Trade Association you can contact that
Trade Association for details.
If you cannot find the appropriate details then please contact the Commission.
You can contact the Gambling Commission at:
Victoria Square House
Victoria Square
Birmingham B2 4BP
Tel: 0121 230 6666
Fax: 0121 230 6720
