Easy...What would happen if you wanted a machine and there was a nice place in the corner of your room for it?
Used to be a bookshelf there but I took it apart, heavy fooker as well!
Am looking for a Genesis cab machine, typical 3 reel jobby, but not looking to buy yet as I still dont know if I have permission.
Dad still thinks it'll crash through but I need more people on my side convincing me it won't;)
So please help me by replying in the poll!............And if you have had experience of owning a machine upstairs please leave an extra:)
Thanks all!

I have a monte carlo or bust in my bedroom and i swear to you it's heavier than a convention fruit machine! No problem with the floor boards and my house is all wood studding inside!!!!
I've had many machines in my bedroom over the years and even had one in my attic room!!! i'm not lying!

Ditto on the wooden floorboards upstairs.....
What I did do though is I got a piece of hardboard and the placed a couple of strips of 1x3 on that (and under the fruitys 4 corners) just to distribute the weight evenly...
Not had One land on my Dad yet CB!

gawd help you if you was banging away and the bed sprung through to ground floor level pmsl
thats just 1 good reason to check your floorboards on a regular basis to make sure machines don't follow through. roflmfao
a little tip: if in doubt replace the joist's a.s.a.p

Average weight for a machine is 110 Kilo's, if you have any fat friends, they weigh more, nothing to worry about.

That's an empty machine though - might be a little heavier with £3-400 in it

Horizon cabs should be max. 110 kg, Luke has 3 of em and he checked round the back of em. Think Eclipse cabs are a touch heavier though and so are lotechs.
Cheers everyone so far for voting, I can see it's going well atm:)

Well if the floor does give in you just get a machine delivered very quickly from the bedroom to the kitchen:p

I have had 7 in 1 upstairs room*
Keep them to the joist ends if possible.
*I built the extenstion and put in double joints and a supporting wall

If it's just the one machine i can't see there being a problem unless your filling it with 1000s of golden nuggets;).

I have two barcrest red gaming mnachines in my bedroom side by side and my house is 100 years old and the flooring is pants, each of those has over £200 pounds in them. No problems although they were a pain to get up the stairs!
I also have an eclipse machine in the front bedroom which weighs in at 16 stone empty and again no problems at all and that has over £400 in it too!

Your dad must be stupid to think that something weighing about 18 stone will crash through the floor... he prolly just doesn't want you to get a machine..
