How about a special page containing the latest news on the unemulated tech? Examples: Scorpion 4 emulated, Barcrest has moved on to MPU6, etc. Also, how about a list of as many unemulated machines as possible. This is so when someone would like to ask if Big Game (Barcrest 1998) can be emulated for example, he could open the page to see if Big Game is in the list. And it would be on the list because it's MPU5. I am suggesting this in a bid to stop people asking if an MPU5 machine can be emulated too much.

That's a nice idea to stop people having to say "That can't be emulated because..." (I currently have a response in a text file ready to copy/paste
)
Suppose it depends if anyone can be bothered to compile a list, and if anything is missed off people are bound to turn up and ask about it "Duuuh its not on the list" it would be some list!
Still, down to the powers that be I guess.

You could perhaps make several lists i.e a list of Barcrest machines, a list of Bellfruit machines, a list of Global machines, a list of Maygay machines, a list of Empire machines, etc, separately.

BELLFRUIT - Firecracker (Club and Casino), Rich Geezer, Very Rich Geezer, The Prize Is Right, Diamond Mine, Quality Streak, Cops & Robbers Gold, Lockbuster (AWP & Club), Who Wants To Be A Legionaire (AWP & Club), Crazy Fruits (of course), Happy Fruits (AWP & Club), Fruit Frenzy, Gold Digger, Royale Family (any machine), Juicy Jackpots.
MAYGAY - Bar Trekking, Italian Job (any machine except original), London Underground, Cash Gordon, Haunted House, Code Red, Club Great Escape, Title Shot?, Fruit N' Nudge, Rags To Riches, Coronation Street Monopoly, Baker Street Club, Club Rich Chicks, Pennies From Heaven, Subbuteo, Jurassic Pork, Bank Raid, Pound Of The Baskervilles, Simpsons (Italian Job/Great Escape clone), Homers Meltdown.
GLOBAL - Spotted Dick Club, The Money Returns, High Spirits (AWP & Club), Phoenix Knights (AWP & Club).
IMPULSE - all machines unemulatable
EMPIRE - ROMs not available due to leakage
Any machine names that are not listed, I WILL note them down and send them to you soon. This list hopefully would at least reduce stress about mailing for newer machines especially MPU5.

Lol, I've been campaigning for that for a while now, suppose I should have been the one to put a list together!
Good job - It isn't just about filling the forum up with annoying posts, It will no doubt show people what the scene is about, and will stop them from wondering if a ROM is available. Of course posts on emulated techs which haven't yet had the ROMs dug out will always be welcomed if appropriate

I've suggested a list along similar lines before. It is not sufficient to say "all impulse machines un-emulateable" though, because that means diddly squat to your average player. They need to be able to search on name. In fact it means nothing to me. If I asked for a machine and got a snotty answer that it's mpu5 so piss off, I wouldn't be too chuffed tbh.
A list isn't that difficult to maintain by the scene as a whole, just becomes difficult to keep an eye on who's adding what to it and whether it's right or not I guess. Worth it's weight in gold if it could get up and running though.

You could stop 3/4 of those posters even getting to the point of posting if Fruit EMU changed it's name to ' www.Party_Time_has_not_been_emulated_yet_softlad_EMU.com '
I wonder how many people are actually going to click that link!

Am I alone in thinking along the lines of 'If it can be emulated it has been or will be soon'???
Another use for a complete listing would be for those of us to trawl through when trying to remember the name of an old fave!!!!

I can give out some names of Impulse machines. Fortune & Glory, Flashback, Grid Runner (AWP & Club), Wipeout, High Voltage, Cash Ahoy (a very bad machine). You can always check out the Impulse website.

To be honest a list is always a good idea. This is something that I have thought about for some time. I wanted a Fruit Machine Database to be set up and it could be updated as we find out the information about machines, not just new tech but all tech and maybee some pictures, as I am sure you forget the names but you don't forget once you have seen a pic. It probably would start by importing Trouty's Dat File. But information such as year of manufacture, Manutacturer, Tech used, Emulated, etc..
It's a bit of a task and has been attempted before, but needs someone dedicated with a bit of time on there hands.

Here are some more currently unemulated machines:
GLOBAL - (not in alphabetical order due to a large list) Knights Life, Greed Club, Dungeons & Dragqueens (AWP & Club), Fields of Gold, Cannonball Run (AWP & Club), Beaver Las Vegas, (AWP, Casino & Club), Beaver Las Vegas 3 Player, Classic What's Up Doc, Club Pontoon, Blackjack Club, Millionhare (AWP & Club), Crazy Streak, Weakest Leek, Spooky Hollow, Beaver Uncovered, Bat Outta Hell, Stand & Deliver, Talkes of the Unexpected, Saturday Night Beaver, Hey Big Spender, Storm Force, Casino Classic, Knockout Punch, Utter Nutter, Heartbreak Hotel, (a very bad machine), Up Yer Riggin, Carry On Clubbin, Vegetable Crew, HI/LO Casino, Deals On Wheels, King of the Swingers, Licence To Thrill.

I was just thinking that a list may not be a perfect solution to people asking the 'has this been done yet' question. Between everyone across the scene, we'd have relatively no trouble getting 75% of the machines unemulated listed but theres a hell of a lot of machines that were few in numbers. Some that may have been widespread in Leeds but non-existent in say Birmingham. Theres many machines that are slight varations of well known machines too. These all add to the 25% we don't know about. It would be a hell of a lot easier to create a listing of what has been done rather than what hasn't.
So in short, we list all the techs theres ever been. Those emulated could be highlighted as such, and underneath, a full list of machines emulated. That would make it so simple to set up. If it ain't in the list, It hasn't been done. that way, no one need post a question asking if 'this or that' has been emulated.

I agree, although you would still need to separate those techs which can't be emulated, and it seems to me that most of the 13yr olds asking for emulated machines on say the MPU5 tech don't know who manufactured the machine, or the tech.
So put up a list of those emulated, make it clear that others from the same era could be with resources if not already, and that no Impulse/Vivid/Red e.t.c can be emulated. Worth a shot
