Hi!
Gordon Bennett! This JPeMu emulator...
Spend all morning trying to get Rollercoaster
(and Potsofgold *and* ClubFastFruit) to emulate.
Need some advice please...
Ok. Firstly I'm running WinXP (Pro) in 1280x1024 res.
(ok, I'm *really* running RedHat 8.0 with VMware
and WinXP inside that...Mr.Gates has enough money )
Installed v1.42 - then overlayed 1.45 - then overlayed 1.46
replacing 1 exe in each step.
(interesingly if you hover the mouse over the JPeMu exe it
says version 1.4.5.0 - but double click and select "About" and
it says 1.46 :? )
If I load "Rollercoaster" a subwindow pops with load progress
(etc) but no display is seen. I can play the sound samples. Huh?
Same with Potsofgold and ClubFastFruit)
I *can* load up "Monopoly60 delux" and "EachWay Nudger Delux".
Both load and work 100%.
Am I missing something in JPeMu or am I missing some layout
files for the problematic ones?
(BTW: Why does JPeMu not allow you to load another game but
asks you to Quit and start a fresh JPeMu? Something for a later
release perhaps? )
Cheers,
Pat/

Ok, I few simple steps first. JPeMu 1.45 & JPeMu 1.46 are completely different programs, 1.45 is the latest public release and 1.46 is a leaked developer version and was never supposed to be in the public domain (and yes it states 1.45 in the version information, as it was never the public release version). These versions work completely differently. You need to have both versions (2 separate exe's) if you load a layout with the incorrect version it will become corrupted and will never load again without unziping/downloading the Layout again.
Try a fresh zip version and see if this sorts your problem.
As for quiting and relaoading, yes this is a pain, but we are unlikley to see a new version of this program as the author is no longer active in the FME Scene due to the leak of the 1.46 version.
Hope this helps

It's all working now
Thanks Wozza.
I deleted my JPeMu folder and all folders
containing the games.
Then re-installed 1.42 and the overlayed 1.46 exe,
omitting 1.45 this time.
Then unzipped all of the games. "Rollercoaster"
gave me a "FileDivideByZero" error. Deleted the
folder again(!) and tried another folder..."Potsofgold"
This worked. So did "ClubFastFruits". Then attempted
to unzip a fresh "Rollercoaster" and this worked!!!
